The weeks go rolling by, and before I know it, it's the morning of Santos' baptism. As Juan promised, I've had practically zero involvement in all of this, he's just given me small updates here and there. Santos and I woke up early today to get ready for the mass, Juan said he'd pick us up at about noon, everyone else should already be waiting for us at the church. While we're at church, all the people Juan hired for our small get together will get to work at decorating the backyard and the chefs will get started on our supper.
Like clockwork, the doorbell is rung right at twelve. "Let's go." I smile down at Santos who has been sitting next to me on the couch since we came downstairs a few minutes ago.
"Hey." Juan smiles as he slowly opens the front door. Santos smiles, wiggling happily in my arms at the sight of his daddy. "Hi, baby." Juan coos at him, closing the door behind him. He takes him from my grasp, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
He takes Santos' diaper bag out of my hands, swinging it over his shoulder. "Thanks." I say, running my hands over my dress, making sure it's not wrinkled now.
"You look..." his eyes slowly travel the length of my body, meeting my own again. "you look really beautiful, Adrianna."
I smile, nodding. "Thanks. You look good too." he does. He looks so good it pains me. Why is he so attractive? Why did I marry such a painfully gorgeous man?
"This new hair," his hand comes up to brush a strand of hair behind my ear. "it suits you really well. You look great...hot, even." he says playfully.
I roll my eyes, smiling. "Shut up."
"I mean it." he nods. "You look really good."
Life has feeling dull lately, so yeah, I needed a little switch up. I cut my hair and dyed it a week ago and Juan had yet to see it. I wanna kick myself for being glad that he likes the new look.
"Thank you." I fight the blush creeping up on my cheeks, clearing my throat. "We should get going."
He stares at me for a moment longer, a goofy grin on his face before he finally nods. "Yeah, okay. We don't wanna be late."

"Juan, this is beautiful." I gawk at the setup in our backyard.
The mass was beautiful, and although Im not the most religious person ever, I'm glad Santos and his father shared this experience together. Now though, it was time for the 'party'. Its only our closest family here, so it should definitely be nice. Juan flew out his parents, Manuela, his Aunt Yudy, and his two cousins. I have Mark, Joel, Oscar, Elizabeth, my Dad, his wife, and her kids. Not too many of us, but everyone necessary.
"Yeah, right?" he nods. With his hand on his the small of my back, he leads me towards the table that's been beautifully decorated in the center of the backyard. "Our food should be served in..." he looks down at his watch. "about fifteen minutes. Take a seat."
