"Holy crap, are paparazzi always that bad?"

I look over at Laila and smile, shrugging. "They got worse when they found out about the pregnancy. They're trying to figure out the gender now." Laila and I just got seated at a restaurant for dinner, and the paparazzi surrounding our car and outside of the restaurant was insane. Thankfully our security guards made sure they couldn't get too close to either Laila or I.

"And you're having a...boy, right?" she asks.

I nod. "Mhm."

"How cute. I'm so excited for you guys." she gives me a genuine smile.

"Thank you."

She perks up in her seat. "So what's it like?"

"What's what like?" I ask, confused. I take a sip of my lemonade, waiting for her response.

"Being pregnant."

I laugh lightly, nodding. "It's been...interesting." I say. "I absolutely love it, but I cannot wait to get this little guy out." I smile down at my bump.

"I already know he's gonna be the most gorgeous baby ever." she smiles excitedly.

"I can feel it too." I admit jokingly, caressing my bump.

We order our drinks and our food soon after. "So," Laila says with a mouth full of spaghetti. "is Juan still gonna be on tour when the baby comes?"

"Yeah." I nod, pulling a face. "He's postponing a handful of his shows to be at home for a few weeks with the baby. But then he has to go make up for them, just making this entire tour that much longer." I roll my eyes.

"And he'll be there when the baby is born?"

I scoff. "He better pray to god he is."

"There's always the possibility he won't be there though, right?" she asks, cringing.

I hesitantly nod. "Yeah. Yeah, that's always a possibility. I just have to hope our times line up perfectly. He's gonna stop the shows when I'm 37 weeks. And he has a month off." I say. "Just gotta pray I don't have him before the 37 weeks." I shrug.

"Oh, I'm sure it'll work out." she shakes her head, waving a dismissive hand. I can hear the small amount of doubt in her voice, but dismiss it, because I've heard that small pang of doubt from everybody I've told our plan to. Yeah, there's a lot of risks in our plan, Juan could most definitely miss the birth of our son, but we  both just have to hope for the best.

My phone buzzes against my lap where I have it set, and I pick it up, seeing who's calling me. "It's Juan." I smile at Laila before answering the FaceTime call. "Hi, baby." I smile widely when I see his face pop up on the screen. He's still flying, he's in a hoodie and looking super comfortable.

"Hi, bonita." he says, smiling. "Did you like my surprise?"

I nod, turning the camera to face Laila. "Loved it." she waves happily, saying a quick hello to him. Juan returns the hello and I turn the camera back to me. "Thank you for this. I really appreciate it, Juan."

"Of course, bonita." he nods. I see him adjusting his phone so that it's leaning against something before he leans back, crossing his arms over his chest. "I hated seeing you so sad last night, so I decided to call one of your favorite people in the world." I shift my gaze to Laila who blows me a flirtatious kiss. "You know, besides me." he jokes, smirking.

I laugh, nodding. "Well thank you. You're amazing, and I love you."

"I love you too, bonita." he says, watching me closely. "How's our boy? Let me see him."
