It's been over a month. A month of pretty much no communication with Juan. He's came by to pick up Santos about two times, which doesn't seem like a lot, but I get it. He's touring in all around the world right now. The fact that he's trying to make an effort to see his son even though the travel back and forth is a pain in the ass means a lot to me. It's all I can ask for at this point.
I miss him like crazy, but I don't cry myself to sleep about him every night anymore. I'm trying to learn to adjust to life without him. That fact that I even have to say that still breaks my heart though.
"Adrianna." Laila snaps me out of my thoughts, and I look back at the screen.
I smile. "Sorry. Sorry, I don't know where my heads at." I say.
"I know you don't wanna talk about it, but how are you?" she asks softly.
Laila and I FaceTime here and there, so today I decided to call her to get my mind off of Juan and this whole situation. Clearly it's not working. "I'm sad. I feel the same. But Im learning to adjust to the sadness." I shrug.
She frowns, nodding. "I'm sorry."
"Let me fly you out."
Her eyes widen. "What?"
"Come visit. I'll fly you out." I say again.
She smiles wide. "I'd love to come visit!" she squeals. "As long as you let me fly myself out." she rolls her eyes. "I'll buy my own ticket, okay?"
"Okay, yeah. Are you sure?"
She nods quickly. "Super sure. I'll buy a ticket as soon as I can, I'll be out on the first flight I can catch."
"Great! Oh, this is gonna be so fun!" I smile excitedly.
A few days around Laila's refreshing personality are seriously going to save me.

"You're getting offers is all I'm saying, Anna." Elizabeth sighs, sitting down next to me.
I shake my head. "I'm in no shape to get back to work yet." I say, nibbling at my nails anxiously.
"Will you tell her she looks amazing?" Liz looks up at everyone. My brothers nod quickly, probably terrified to do anything but agree.
Laila plops down next to me. "You do." she nods, smiling wide. "You really do, Adrianna."
Laila got here last night, and already I feel myself thinking less and less about Juan. Tonight, I invited Liz and my brothers over to have some takeout with us.
"See?!" she exclaims.
I roll my eyes. "You're just saying that."
"If I didn't know you just had a baby a few months ago, I'd have no idea!" Laila insists, nudging me.
Still, I shake my head. "I don't know. I just don't feel ready yet. And who would I leave Santos with all day while I'm working? I've never left his side for more than a few hours. You know shoots can literally take up entire days."
"People hire nanny's all the time, Anna." Oscar adds from his seat in the kitchen.
"Yeah, I gue—" I'm cut off by pictures and videos of what looks like Juan leaving a club on the TV.
Elizabeth quickly grabs the remote. "I can—I can change i—"
"Turn it up." I say, sitting up.
