Y/N's pov (first person)

I've been in a relationship with Shoto for a few months, we're a perfect match- or so he says. He tells me I make him feel amazing and less weak whenever he fails something. He tells me he's won even if he's lost because I'm by his side pointing out what he did well and how he needs to work on things politely. He loved how much I cared for him no matter what happened.

I love him with all my heart, I really do.. But this past week I've wondered if he loves me the same way he used to.

I was in my dorm cleaning when I heard someone walk in. I assumed it was Shoto.

Y/N: Hey, love.

I smiled and looked up.

Shoto: Hey...

He had his hand rubbing the back of his neck whilst he looked away from me.

Y/N: Is anything wrong? You seem... off... No offence- obviously- I just mean-

Shoto: I understand.

Y/N: Thanks... It's just you usually look at me and you overall seem pretty nervous..

Shoto nodded.

Y/N: Why'd you come?

Shoto: We need to talk.

My heart stopped for a moment.

I put everything in my hands down and stood straight, dusting off my sleeves.

Shoto: I don't think we're gunna work out.

I almost fell to my knees and started sobbing. My words were caught in the back of my throat as I choked on my emotions.

Y/N: What?...

Shoto: We aren't going to work out. Your quirk isn't as good as I thought it was, and your company isn't as comforting as it was before.

Y/N: So- did you ever even love me?..

Shoto took a deep breath as if hesitating.

Shoto: No, I didn't. I just liked the things you did for me.

Y/N: Why- Why did you date me then? Why'd you make me feel like you loved me-

Shoto: Y/N, things change.

Y/N: Yeah but you don't fucking play with people's emotions, Shoto.

I snapped, clenching my fist till my knuckles went white.

Shoto: These things will happen, Y/N, get used to it.

Y/N: So I'm not worth actual love?

Shoto: I never said that-

Y/N: That's what I got from it.

Shoto: You're being unreasonable.
