Chapter 40
Abhi was careful enough to wear a black mask to conceal his features but Ram went an extra step and stole their mother's woollen sweater and long skirt, he concealed his features with a stole.
Abhi chuckled at his brother's attempt to look feminine but with his broad shoulders and tall stature, he seemed as out of place as a bride at a funeral.
The duo walked through the chilled starless night and they were as silent as the rain over a metal roof. Abhi was sure they would have woken up at least five bears and two dogs, maybe even a cat.
The moon was nowhere to be seen and the torch they carried illuminated the path that was just before them and did little to see through the thick settling mist.
Even though they walked through the path multiple times Abhi felt as though he was walking a foreign land, a rather frightening one because the woods were thick enough to block out screams and the mud was dense enough to cover any marks or even the sign of their very presence.
The path was slick with the rain that had poured a few minutes ago and their shoes were had become very muddy and slippery.
They decided that they word wipe their shoes on the lawn behind the library, preferably take their shoes off outside and then enter.
The library was quite secluded from the rest of the school so it was not very hard to enter it. Apart from that, it was very close to the old tennis court whose fence was very facilitating for anyone to enter into the school without anyone noticing. Abhi and Ram had kept the whole in the fence hidden for a long time to display their shenanigans and it was about time they put it to some good use.
Ram had gathered the skirt in his hands and walked on the path, he didn't think it was the best plan to break into the school's library in the middle of the night but Abhi had a hunch that something happened to Indriya and it had something to do with that little trapdoor. He was convincing himself that this was a good idea, and there was so much at stake. He could probably get himself and Ram suspended and that would be a stain on their clear record.

Indriya was as nervous as a bride walking down the aisle. She didn't know why but all the while they were eating it seemed that she could not concentrate on anything for longer than a second or two.
Agni and she were only going for a walk then why was she feeling the butterflies?
She never understood why the protagonists of stories felt butterflies in their stomachs when they saw their love interest but now she could feel it too.
Love interest?
'I thought it only happened in books.' She thought to herself.
She lifted her eyes from the plate and saw Vardhi and Apramēya smiling at her.
They were teasing her with their mere looks, Indriya stuck her tongue out in response and went back to eating.
"Is there something wrong, Princess?" Agni whispered to her. He could've sat anywhere in the entire room but he just had to sit beside her and make her inners go bonkers.
"Nothing. Nothing is wrong." She replied nervously, chuckling.
Dinner was over sooner than she wished, Agni said he would wait downstairs for her when she excused herself to the washroom because she thought she would die out of shortness of breath.
She looked at herself in the mirror, she had left her hair with a side partition. Her hair was still wet and there were wet splotches on her beautiful white ankle-length frock.
