"Guys, we're coming up on Freedman's Chuch," Pope told as the Pogues continued their drive.
"Thank you for the commentary, Tour Guide," Aria mumbled as she looked out at the old church.
"This is the church Denmark built for all the slaves he freed," Pope ignored Aria and continued.
The Pogues had changed their positions. John B was still driving with JJ in the passenger's seat, Aria on the seat behind him and next to Pope. Kie and Sarah sitting opposite Aria and Pope.
"There it is, Angel Oak," Kie realised as the giant tree came into the view from far away.
John B kept driving forward as Aria watched out the window. Someone's hand tangled into her left one. She turned her head slightly down as saw as JJ rubbed small circles on the back of her palm. She squeezed his hand in comfort.
JJ smiled softly as he squeezed her hand back. He knew that they weren't back together, and it still probably won't be for a while, but doing these simple acts made his heart flutter in ways no one could understand.
"Oh, shit! Tide's coming in," John B informed.
Aria looked back out the window and saw how the water was almost fully covering the way there needed to go. She let go of JJ's hand and turned her body so she was looking out the front window then intertwined her other hand with JJ's.
"Hey, wait a second. Look," Pope pointed to the tire tracks in front of them. "They already came through here. Those have to be Limbrey's tire tracks. Guys, we gotta go."
"Maybe, their cars were, you know, bigger," Aria suggested.
"Bigger?" Pope questioned as he squinted his eyes at her, Aria shrugged in return.
"Mmm, what do you think, chief?" JJ asked John B.
"I'm thinking it's looking a little dicey," John B returned.
"Yep, I'm gonna have to agree with that statement," Aria rolled her eyes at the two boys conversations.
"Okay, clearly, that made it. No?" Kie quizzed.
"In a two-wheel drive? I don't know about that," JJ answered.
Sarah laughed under her breath. "Why are y'all acting like you're not gonna do it anyway? Like when have y'all ever done the safe thing?" She mocked.
John B and JJ looked at each other then shrugged, Aria smiled and looked back to Sarah who had a cheeky grin on her face, Pope and Kie both looked curious but slightly worried.
"I mean..." Aria trailed off.
"She's got a point," John B finished.
"Speed is you friend here, okay?" JJ told. Kie grabbed onto the side of the door for support while Pope leaned further back. "So, put her down in a second and hammer down, brother."
"And stick to the ground in the middle," Pope informed.
"And drive, you know, semi safely," Aria nodded unsure of her own words. JJ looked back at her in a mocking way.
"This is why you didn't pass you drivers test," He teased.
"Okay, wait, I only failed the first one, I passed the other ones," Aria defended as JJ rolled his eyes.
"All right, ready? Here we go," John B started at a slow paced then jolted the car forward as he stepped down on the acceleration.
"Come on, bro. Punch it," JJ exclaimed. "Speed is your friend. Speed is your friend. You're not going fast enough."
