JJ had stopped the tears soon after they appeared but was still holding onto Aria. "We need to go," He whispered softly thinking back to their friends."JJ," Aria spoke softly as she pulled away and cupped his face, JJ's eyes were still red and puffy but he wasn't crying anymore. "You needed love that your dad wasn't able to give to you," She spoke slowly as she leaned in and placed a soft, gentle kiss on his lips. "Let me give it to you."
"Aria..." JJ spoke as he let one of his hands come to the back of her neck.
"I love you, I will always love you," Aria said as she placed another kiss onto his lips. "I just needed you to know that," Aria pulled away from JJ with a small smile.
She held out her hand for JJ to take, he looked down at her hand then back up into her eyes. He saw the grimance of love portray behind her soft blue eyes.
JJ placed his hand carefully in her smaller one, she squeezed his hand and pulled him carefully to his feet. She always pulled him back up when he was at his lowest.
He wrapped his other arm around her shoulder and kissed her forehead as they made their way to the end of the dock. No words were spoken between JJ and Aria as they made their way back to the truck.
"What did he say to you?" JJ asked as Aria started to drive again.
"Nothing," Aria replied shortly.
"Bullshit, Aria, I know you," JJ scoffed.
"It's fine, it's nothing I haven't heard before," Aria responded calmly.
In truth, she didn't want to tell him, not just because it hurt her to talk about but the fact that he just said goodbye to his father and she saw the moment they shared, whether JJ would admit it or not it meant something to him.
She didn't want to take that away from him. Aria knew how much JJ wanted Luke's approval because she could relate with her adoptive father.
"Please, baby, I just don't want to keep guessing with you," JJ sighed, now leaning into a different topic.
"JJ..." Aria sighed.
"I know you said you weren't ready, but how you have acted with me today, it just proved that we can be how we were again, please, I- I just want you," JJ pleaded as Aria stopped at a red light.
"JJ, I think that I-" Aria started as she drove past Freedman's Church.
"And- and I know you're scared I am going to hurt you again, I am scared that I will hurt you again. But, please, you are the only thing I need,"
"JJ, I wanted to say-"
"Look, if you don't want to get bak together then we won't, but I can't keep how I want to be with you just a platonic thing, I need you, and I know its cringy-"
"Will you shut up?!" Aria cut off his rambling as she stopped the car. "I want to get ba-"
"Where the hell were you guys?!" Pope shouted from outside the truck, Aria huffed annoyed because she didn't get to finish but she looked back at the four who were sitting on the twinkie.
JJ sighed as he stepped out of the twinkie. Aria put the thoughts to the back of her mind, trying to ignore the fact she was just going to say she wanted to get back together.
"We were- uh, dealing with shit," Arua shrugged not wanting to tell them about JJ's dad until he felt comfortable enough to.
"Luke was at the Chateau," JJ spoke as he grabbed the bags from the back.
