Christabel had asked herself so many questions throughout her life, but it seemed new ones rolled through her brain recently. She wondered if she was making it as the perfect mother for Amara. She wondered if being around the Weasleys was good for them, since she was a Malfoy after all. She wanted to be good, but it was hard with who her family was. She could remember the other night when she had a serious talk with Sirius. Ever since their talk, she had been thinking harder about her life and what she was doing with it now that she wasn't around her family anymore.
**flashback**
"I know you love your mother and brother, Chrissy. I know your brother misses you. I know you hate your father, I hate him, too. I was thinking, to help yourself and Amara, you could possibly change your last name to Black. I know the Black family doesn't have the best reputation, but it might possibly help you later on in life if you were a Black and not a Malfoy. Your father will eventually get what's coming to him, Chrissy," Sirius said, and Christabel sighed.
"I may hate my father, but I don't want to hurt Draco by changing my name. He might feel like I don't love him anymore if I change my name," Christabel replied, causing Sirius to frown.
"If he loves you like you claim, he'd learn to accept your decision," Sirius commented, but Christabel simply shrugged.
"I know you're trying to help, but I feel like I shouldn't be leaving Draco behind. I have a feeling worse things are coming and he's going to need my help, even if I'm working against my father, my mother, and the Dark Lord himself," Christabel said, and Sirius nodded.
"I get it, because I was the same way with Regulus, until he decided to work against us," He replied, taking a large drink of his fire whiskey.
**end of flashback**
Christabel wondered if Draco would let her help him get away from the Malfoy Manor. She knew her father was a bad influence on Draco, so she wanted him far away from the man.
Anyhow, Christmas was coming soon. Amara's birthday had passed weeks ago, meaning the girl was now a year old. Christmas would be the perfect time for Christabel to visit Draco, or at least try to visit. She sat at the desk in her room, writing a letter to Draco.
Dear Draco,
I know we haven't talked in a while. I know Umbridge has been causing problems at Hogwarts, meaning you might not getting my letter as soon as I wanted you to. Please send me a letter if you're not going home this Christmas. If you're not, I want you to come to me.
If you want to visit me for the holiday, please let me know so I can get you from Kings Cross. I miss you Draco, and so does Amara. Don't tell anyone I contacted you, since I can't have our parents finding out.
Father would punish all of us if he knew I wrote you this letter. I want you to be safe. You and Amara are the only people I need to protect the most. Tell me what's been going on in your life. Let's catch up, even if it's in private. If you fear sending a letter back yourself, give the letter to one of the twins. I'll tell them to trust you if you approach them with a letter.
I know you missed Amara's birthday because of our parents, so I bought her a gift and said it was from you. You're a great uncle, and the perfect little brother. Don't let anyone tear you down or get you into something that could get you in trouble or put you in danger. Let me know if you ever need me, Draco. I'll always be there for you, even if it's against our own parents.
I love you Draco Malfoy, my sweet little brother.
Love,
Chrissy. As soon as she had finished her letter, she attached the letter to her owl and sent the owl off to Draco. She hoped Umbridge wouldn't intercept the letter and tell her parents. If her parents found out about the letter, she, Amara, and Draco could be in trouble. She didn't want to get her brother in trouble, but she missed him so much that she had to talk to him, and she hoped to see him again.
Sitting at the desk, she heard a light knock on the bedroom door. Slowly, she stood from the desk and walked over to the door. She opened the door and was surprised to see Bill standing outside of the door. Ever since she and Bill started hanging out together, she began to gain feelings for the man. He was strong, handsome, tall, and brave. She wished she hadn't caught such feelings, since he was way older than her and she was a teen mother, but she couldn't help herself.
Christabel was also surprised when she realized Amara was asleep in Bill's arms. She smiled and allowed the man into her room. She watched him lay her daughter down, before walking back over to Christabel with a slight smile on his face.
"I didn't think she'd be asleep yet. She's always so wired around lunch," Christabel commented, and Bill chuckled.
"She's been walking around everywhere since we've been working with her. I guess walking tired her out," Bill replied, as Christabel nodded in agreement.
"Now that she's asleep, you're going to be bored," Christabel joked, and Bill smiled shyly.
"No, I don't think so. You and I can hang out again," Bill offered, and Christabel smiled shyly as well.
"I'd like that. Let's leave the room so Amara can sleep," She answered, and he agreed quickly.
Christabel checked on her daughter, as Bill walked out of the room. When he turned around to wait for Christabel, he didn't expect her to be right behind him. She ran into him, causing them both to stumble and fall to the ground. It wasn't just the fall that made everything awkward, it was the accidental kiss they shared when they hit the ground. After the kiss, things weren't as simple as they had been before...
