Chapter Thirty

Christabel and Bill sent letters to each other quite often, learning more and more about each other as they went. Bill had promised to come see Christabel and Amara as often as he could, even if it was only a few hours like their date had been days ago. Christabel and Bill had quite a bit in common, which would seem odd to most, since Christabel was from a blood prejudice family.

   'Dear Chrissy,

Ian has been asking me more and more about you girls each day. Ian's sister wants to meet you and Amara. She believes you and her can be friends, especially her children and Amara. She knows Amara is younger than the twins by a year, but she thinks they would still be good friends, even if it's over time.

In a couple of months, I think we should tell Mum, Dad, my brothers, and Ginny about our relationship. It's hard not to tell them already, since I want everyone to know you're mine, but nonetheless, I'll wait as long as you want.

I know you're worried about how everyone react, since we're so many years apart, but that's not going to change my mind. Also, if I remember correctly, you had worried they would hate the relationship because of who your family are, and the fact that you're a young mother, but their opinion doesn't matter to me.

You're not your family, Chrissy. You are more like Sirius than your parents. I know you want to save your brother, and one day you might, but for now, worry about yourself and Amara. My family will eventually understand and see that you're not your family, if they haven't already.

Being a young mother has made you stronger. If it wasn't for Amara, I don't know if we ever would've met. I have Amara to thank for that, and for her I am grateful. My parents seem to love Amara, so I doubt they'll hate our relationship because you're a mother. They seem to accept you for who you are, Chrissy, as I do.

I will wait years if I have to, but one day the whole wizarding world, and maybe even muggle world, will know that you're mine, and that I will forever cherish you and Amara. No one will ever take you two away from me; not even you-know-who himself.

Don't ever question your worth, or how important you are. You're an extraordinary witch, I mean, you graduated Hogwarts early, that's a feat in itself. I have a feeling you will be one of the witches that have the ability to save the world from the Dark Wizards. You will always be important to me, most importantly, Christabel. You and Amara are my world.

Love,
Bill'

Christabel had read the letter more than once, and everytime she read the letter, she felt her cheeks heat up at the end. Knowing that Bill had so much confidence in her, made her heart flutter and her stomach fill with butterflies.

    'Dear Bill,

Amara and I miss you. Tell Ian to let his sister know Amara and I will meet her and her twins once the world isn't in so much chaos. If it doesn't get any worse though, we might be able to visit earlier.

After much contemplation, I have decided that in a month's time, we will tell your family about us. I want us to feel more comfortable together before we tell anyone else. If we tell them too early, and they dislike me enough, our relationship might not be able to take that amount of negativity—which I don't want, so I think we should wait a couple more weeks at least.

Amara and I miss you, but we will see you soon. The next time we see you, you'll be able to see more teeth in Amara's mouth. She seems quite proud of them, as am I, and as will you be.

Love,
Chrissy & 'Mara'

Christabel sent the short letter to Bill, using the owl he had been sending back and forth from Egypt. The woman made sure to give the owl treats often, and let him rest when she could. She knew just how long of a journey the owl had to go on so often, and for that, she tried to help it when she could.

Christabel was soon going to let Amara start coloring pictures to send to Bill. She knew the little girl would mostly send scribbles, but she knew Bill would love the drawings either way. Bill seemed to really love the little girl, and Christabel was happy to see Amara having such a close relationship with someone other than herself.

Amara had a close relationship with Sirius as well, but it was nothing compared to having a father figure in her life. Honestly, Christabel wasn't sure if Amara would ever have a father figure in her life, but it seemed that luck was on their side. Amara was going to grow up somewhat normal, or so it seemed, and Christabel was thankful for that as well.

When she still lived in the Malfoy Manor, she was never given a normal childhood. Maybe she was given the childhood of a pureblood family—the ones that cared about blood status—but she didn't have the childhood that everyone else in the Wizarding World seemed to have. Christabel hated her father for that, but there wasn't anything she could do about the past.

She promised herself that Amara would never grow up the way she did. Amara would always feel loved and wanted. She would never feel like a burden, nor would she feel like she was only born for the sake of her family's name. Amara wouldn't be taught the same rules as a dark wizard family. She wouldn't be married off to the next best pureblood male. She would find her own love, and she would be able to pick her own happiness. In the end, she would have the childhood Christabel had wanted, even if it happened to have a few bumps in the road...
