With summer came all the children being home from Hogwarts. Christabel tried to keep as much information from Ron and Ginny as she could. She didn't see them too often, but when she did, she tried to keep it all out of their minds. She did the same for Harry and Hermione.
Hermione often visited, since she felt it wasn't safe for her to be home. She didn't want her magic attracting Death Eaters to her family. She wanted to protect them, and one way for her to do that, was for her to never really be home. It was the safest idea in her opinion.
Harry stayed with Sirius, Bill, Christabel, and Amara for the summer. He had gotten out of the Dursley home like he had wanted, though he was a little disappointed that the family didn't even fight to keep him. They simply let him go, and they were glad they did.
Harry also wasn't too happy that Christabel was permanently living in Grimmauld Place with her fiancé and daughter. He still held a grudge against her for who her family was, even if Sirius claimed she was different. Harry refused to believe it, because in his eyes, all Malfoys were bad people.
Throughout the summer, Sirius tried to get Harry to understand that Christabel was different. He wanted Harry to understand that Christabel was a good person, and that she didn't deserve the hate she recieved. Sirius believed that Harry simply had ideas in his head that weren't going to easily be changed.
Anyhow, over the summer, everything was slowly getting worse. More and more attacks were being announced, and it hurt to hear about everything going on. Christabel wanted everything to change, but there wasn't anything else she could do. She wasn't putting herself in danger for everyone, when her daughter was the one that truly needed her.
Christabel spent quite a bit of time in the joke shop, until the attacks became more common, and she didn't think it was safe for her to keep traveling back and forth. She didn't want to attract Death Eaters to her home. If she wasn't careful, she could lead the Death Eaters straight to her family, and that wasn't something she wanted to happen.
Amara was learning more and more as the days went on. She had a few bouts of accidental magic, but Bill and Christabel were around to fix whatever she broke. Sirius thought the accidental magic was hilarious, since she had accidentally turned Remus's hair blue one time. Tonks had to turn it back, since he didn't trust Sirius to do it correctly.
After almost a month, Christabel had recieved a letter back from Draco. She felt a sigh of relief leave her lips, until she read the letter. It wasn't what she wanted to hear, and that truly upset her. She was very worried about her brother.
Dear Christabel,
I'm sorry this response is so late, I had to sneak to write it. You-Know-Who is practically living in our manor, and Father was the one to offer him a room. Aunt Bella stays close by him at all times, and so does his pet snake. Honestly, the snake scares me, but I have to pretend it doesn't.
Mother wants me to act like nothing is bothering me, but it definitely isn't true. I hate having all these people around. They're not good people, and they're hurting everyone. I heard them make plans more than once to hunt down the blood traitors and make them change their beliefs.
You need to be careful, Christabel, promise me that you will. If you don't, I fear what could happen to you or to Amara. I would tell you what the Dark Lord has planned for me, but I can't. I'm forbidden from saying, but I really want you to know. I wish I could get out of it, but I'm too far gone. I'm sorry, Chrissy, but I promise I will protect you and Amara.
Sincerely,
D.M.'Christabel had almost cried when she read the letter from Draco. She wanted to help him, but she really didn't know what he meant when he said that he was "too far gone." She hoped that he would be able to save himself before he ended up dead, since he wouldn't tell her what was going on.
After she recieved the letter from Draco, she knew things were only going to get worse. She didn't know what to expect, but she knew it was going to be bad. The world was going to get way worse before it got better, and there was a chance that the only way for things to get better would be if the good witches and wizards fought for what was right.
"What do you want to do?" Bill asked, as he laid next to Christabel in bed.
"I want to save him," Christabel replied,"but there's no way for me to do that. I can't go into the manor and demand he come with me. I would end up dead at that rate. I also don't know how safe it is for me to even try, when he said he's too far gone." She commented, making Bill frown.
"Well, Chrissy, I don't know what you want me to do here," He murmured,"but I promise I'll be here when you decide what you think is best. I know it's not an easy choice, but whatever you choose, I will support you."
Christabel laid her head on Bill's chest and snuggled close to him. Having him support her truly made her heart flutter. She hadn't expected to have such a nice man in her life, and she truly loved him with all of her heart. She hoped she'd never lose him, and if she did, she'd never be the same. He was her and Amara's world, and they would always need and love him. He felt the exact same way about them, and he would always feel that way...
