Christabel could barely look Mrs. Weasley in the eye for days after she had blatantly rejected her so easily. Mrs. Weasley had obviously apologized and seemed to accept her and Amara later, but the damage had been done. Christabel had been hurt, and there wasn't much the older woman could do to fix what she said.
'Dear Chrissy,
I know you're still uncomfortable around Mum, and for that, I am sorry. I have sent her a letter, and she has apologized to me, but she doesn't really know how to make it up to you. She wants to make it up to you, I promise, she just doesn't think there is any way to fix this.
I'm not saying you have to completely forgive her, but I want you two to make somewhat of an ammends. She is my mum, and I need her to understand that I love you, but you have to understand that she is my mum and she is important to me.
What she said to you, about you and Amara is unforgivable, and I am still so sorry, but I promise, I will not try to justify anything she said to or about you. Honestly, her words hurt me, even if you don't believe me. Please, try to forgive her, enough to where there isn't much tension, and I'll be forever grateful.
I love you Christabel Malfoy, and I will see you real soon. As more talks about You-Know-Who spread, I have thought more and more about moving closer. In fact, if any crazy attacks happen anywhere near you and Amara, I will move there immediately. You two are my world, and I will protect you with my life.
Love,
Bill'After reading the letter from Bill, Christabel begrudgingly decided to try and make somewhat of an ammends with Mrs. Weasley. She refused to call the woman 'Molly' anymore, but that was because she didn't feel welcome or comfortable anymore. If she wanted to make Bill happy, she would have to forgive Mrs. Weasley a bit, but she wasn't sure how well she would be able to do so.
Christabel had gotten dressed to go downstairs, but before she could leave the room, she heard a knock on her door. Opening the door, she seen Sirius standing outside of the door.
"Come in," She murmured, opening the door fully for the man to step inside.
"Can we talk real quick?" He asked, glancing over at Amara as she slept in her small bed.
"Sure. Have a seat," She replied, motioning to one of the two chairs in her bedroom.
Sirius walked over to the seat and carefully sat down, trying not to make too much noise and wake Amara.
"Chrissy, I know you and Molly still aren't getting along, but I think you and her should try to make up. I am on your side completely, so if you choose not to, I will back you up, but I know if you did, it would make Bill really happy. I can see that the tension between Molly and Bill is wearing on her, and I feel a bit bad. I'm not saying what she did was right, not at all, I honestly wanted to hex her for what she said, but I know you don't want to hurt Bill," Sirius said, and Christabel nodded.
"I understand, and I actually recieved a letter from Bill asking me to forgive her. I'm going to try, for you and for Bill, but I can't promise anything. If she says something backhanded to me, I will leave," Christabel replied, causing Sirius to nod.
"And I will support you," He answered, and she smiled.
"I should do it now, before I talk myself out of it," She commented, making him nod again.
Sirius and Christabel headed downstairs, making sure Amara was still asleep before they both left. Once Christabel was in the kitchen, she felt her stomach churn. She was nervous, and she really didn't know what to expect.
"Christabel! Dear, can we please talk?" Mrs. Weasley asked, and Christabel nodded reluctantly.
Mrs. Weasley motioned for the girl to take a seat, and once she did, Mrs. Weasley sat down as well.
"Christabel, I am very sorry for everything I said to you. I know I tried to somewhat apologize before, but I really am sorry. Everything I said to you was awful. You're a wonderful mother, and Amara is so lucky to have you and to have Bill. I don't care that you're a Slytherin either, you're a very nice girl. Also, I completely accept your and Bill's relationship. You two are good together, and Amara deserves to have a father in her life, and I believe you and Bill are the best parents to that little girl," Mrs. Weasley said, before she sighed quietly,"So, I hope you can forgive me for everything I said, and understand that I was being irrational, and I didn't mean to say any of it," She added, causing Christabel to nod slightly.
"I forgive you, Mrs. Weasley," Christabel said, but when she said the woman's name different that she would before, the woman did frown,"it will take time for our trust to build back up like it was before, but I do forgive you. Just know, if you say anything like that again about me, and especially about Amara, I will never forgive you."
The two women sat across from each other for a moment, the room completely silent. Sirius looked between them, unsure of what was going to happen, or if he needed to break the silence. He was shocked, when he watched Mrs. Weasley stand and walk over to Christabel, before she wrapped her arms tightly around the girl. Christabel hugged the woman back, causing Mrs. Weasley to let out a happy cry.
"I am sorry, and I promise, I will never say anything like that to you or Amara ever again. You have my word," She said, as she squeezed the girl.
The tension between the two had lessened, and even though it wasn't completely gone—nor would it be for a while, the two could finally say they were fine with each other...
