Chapter 38 - Repairing A Relationship

Max's POV:

Screams coming from several people, screams that felt familiar to me, I could hear them loud and clear begging for help but lives were soon taken out of them.

My eyes soon lit up, I saw the arena of the CHA ambushed by robotic arms in which I don't know where it came from.

Sprinting for my life as well, I came across a young man who kind of looks like he has the same age as mine, he had white hair and was simply staring blankly at me.

I don't know what his deal was but it seems as if the robotic arms weren't scaring him.

He soon vanished right before my eyes leaving absolutely no trail.

I tried to look for him, but doing so might put me in even more harm, as much as I know it's a selfish act, I have no other choice.

As I kept continuing the path that's in front of me, I saw another figure.

She had a long blonde hair, the girl soon turned around and I immediately knew her.

"Catherine!" I shouted out.

"Max!" Soon as she saw me she rushed over and hugged me, before she could speak a sentence I placed a finger on her lips and dragged her away from the destroyed area to someplace safe.

Just as we were about to reach the gate, an arm appeared just below us seperating me and catherine.

I turned around my back and saw catherine, with an arm about to strike her as she was off guarded.

"Catherine watch out!" I warned her but it was too late, the robotic hand changed it shape and turned into a drill and started to pierce itself in Catherine's body.

I couldn't do anything, I wasn't able to help her... And now... She's gone.

3rd Person's POV:

"CATHERINE!!" Max bolted up of his sleep his eyes opening up quickly his heart beating fast.

Once he was able to calm himself down he checked his alarm clock and saw that it was only 4 in the morning.

Placing a hand on his chest, max closed his eyes, those dreams of his isn't planning in leaving him alone, until this day, the same dream kept on tormenting him over and over every night.

He was stressed, he couldn't think what to do in order to make it stop.

Max: What am I still doing that makes me keep dreaming about that incident! About her!

He placed both hands on his head, his fingers running up on his fur hair.

Max: Is it because of lian? No... I didn't mean to do that. I didn't mean to get mad at him...

Max felt a pain in his heart like some type of string was plucked that made him feel this way.

Max: I have to fix this, I must fix this...

-- The Next Day --

Once max had arrived, the crowd he usually sees was not present.

The whole area outside of school was deserted not a single sight of humans nor beastman.

Proceeding inside of the premises, he heard distant chatting from different classes.

Max: Are they well?

He thought to himself.

Taking a peek in one of the windows, he saw all of the other students looking better than usual, they weren't like in the previous days whining and stuff.
