Chapter 13 - An Infernal Beast

Lian's POV:

I quickly made my way back to the school not being able to wait for the others to catch up, I felt something ache in my chest.

Please charlotte, be careful.

When I finally arrived, I saw most of the students outside, some of the other professional heroes were there guarding the students while some were interviewing students I don't know why but it must have something to do with the entity that came out of the ground earlier.

I rushed over them and saw some citizens trembling with fear, I then heard the others behind me as they also aided the one's who are in danger or injured.

I was about to go on where I think charlotte was until I was blocked by a police officer.

He told me that everything was going to be fine and that I shouldn't interfere with it

Then a very loud growl was heard once again scaring the others while some were already panicking.

"Does this look fine to you!?" I shouted in my thought as I backed up from the police.

"If you're going to do something, do it now!"

"You can't just stand there! You must fight that beast!"

Some citizens were now arguing with the heroes, it made me feel even more worse realizing I was just here standing here while charlotte was dealing with whatever beast was attacking our city.

I felt myself arguing too on what I should do so I gave in and went pass the police officer.

I pushed him aside and went to the forest near the school where I felt the growl was coming from.

"Hey kid come back here!" The police officer called me but I ignored him and entered the forest.

Once I entered, a growl was heard again making the ground shake once more.

"Argh! Where are you charlotte!" I closed my eyes as I tried to locate where she was but thought of nothing.

Not even a trace could be seen from this forest.

I then felt my body becoming heavier and heavier as I walked again, after walking for what feels like a few minutes my body was heavier than before.

It became heavier until I fell from the ground dropping my guns.

"Cha...rl....o....tte"

3rd Person's POV:

Lian opened his eyes once again, he stood up quickly and noticed that everything was in slow motion.

When he looked down he saw his whole body glowing and his real body laying on the ground.

He gasped loudly as he moved himself away, as he kept moving, his what appears to be by his perspective, his "soul" became lighter and lighter as he was just slowly in midair.

"What the? Is this a new power?" He then remembered charlotte.

He then flew around the forest to see if he was correct.

As he flew by he saw the tall trees blocking every path that was available, no wonder many people got lost in here.

He kept on flying as he finally spotted the beast being attacked by charlotte who looks like she's going to break any minute.

"Charlotte!" Lian shouted but charlotte wasn't able to hear him due to the fact that he was just a soul.

"Damn it!" He cursed as he realized no one can hear him in only his soul form.

He then closed his eyes once again and placed both hands in his chest as he slowly went back to his body.

He then woke up in the same place where he last left his body and quickly stood up,now he knows where charlotte is.

The time went back to normal as he shot every tree that he saw not leaving any small chunks of it, he continued destroying it whether using guns in hands or in his shoes.

When he finally arrived on the last tree where he saw charlotte was, he shot it again and again but it did not affect it at all.

He tried to shoot it with all of his guns hands and limbs but not even a dent can be seen from this powerful tree.

Lian grew weary of this results which leaded to him being very angry, the witch's core soon began to glow again.

Suddenly a huge portal formed behind him, a large beast came out of it and ice started to come out of it's mouth hitting the trees completely freezing it.

The beast soon got sucked back in and the portal dissapeared, leaving the tree frozen.

Lian kicked the tree finally breaking it, he took a deep breath as he finally rushed over and looked for charlotte.

He then heard shouts coming from the other side of the forest, he heard that charlotte was shouting angrily at the beast.

"Die monster!" Lian finally saw charlotte as she tried to deliver the final blow but the moster smashed it's head against charlotte which made her miss the chance.

"Charlotte!" Lian shouted as he saw his friend's body laying on the ground, her body full of injuries making her unable to move or even stand.

Then a crystal cage captured Charlotte's body, the cage soon flew up until it vanished along with charlotte inside it.

"Charlotte!" Lian shouted as the beast's attention went to him.

Lian gritted his teeth as he prepared to attack.

"I've had enough of you!" He shouted at the beast, lian then ran over as he shot the beast in the face ceaselessly but that didn't affect the beast at all.

The beast then made it's move and tried to crush lian but as he was about to hit him, lian dodged at the last second and began to shoot at it's face again.

Lian didn't even think on what kind of strategy was he should use as he kept on shooting without stopping.

After shooting for a few minutes one of his bullets hit the beast right in the eye blinding him.

Lian then moved to a different location and shot it's other eye completely blinding it, the beast growled as he tried to find on where lian was.

He didn't feel lian anywhere, suddenly lian jumped onto one of its legs and ran on to his head.

When he arrived at the top he then jumped on it while shooting at the same time as he exploded the beast's head.

When the beast was about to fall, he jumped at the very last second before they both crashed onto the ground.

Lian's core began to glow once more, a portal opened again below the beast and sucked him right after leaving no trace.

Lian soon let his body crash on the ground, thinking on where and who took charlotte, he stood up and saw a glowing tablet near him.

When he checked the tablet, a word was imprinted on it.

"Fursenburg"

"Fursenburg?" Lian looked at the tablet, where is that?

He took the tablet with him and went back to the school, he hoped that whatever fursenburg was, charlotte is there.
