Chapter 31 - Lian?

-- A few minutes ago --

3rd Person's POV:

The slight peaceful atmosphere inside the ruin was shortly disturbed when a violent vibration occured all of a sudden.

Max, Blizzard, and Zeus were continuing on with the path that was before them when the vibration took place.

Blizzard was completely startled and surprised that he accidentally tripped over.

Zeus: Blizzard!

Zeus shouted his name as he quickly moved to catch his beast friend.

Blizzard: Whoa! Thanks bro!

Zeus: No problem.

Max: What is that?

Max checked above him and noticed a few dirt particles falling to them.

Blizzard: Could it be lian and blizzard?

In blizzard's statement, a loud gulp was heard from max.

Max: Let's go, we need to find them as soon as possible.

With max's heart beating fast due to him being extremely worried about lian and shadow, he began to pick up the pace, blizzard and zeus doing the same except the two couldn't catch him.

In the next area that was just up ahead there was a figure standing, it's back facing them.

Max immediately thought this was an enemy, when it slowly turned around to face the three beastmen max's eyes widened.

Max: Lian?

Lian: Max! There you are!

Lian came rushing towards max and hugged him, he wrapped his hand on max's waist and placed his head against his chest.

Lian: Oh max! I was so worried! I was scared that something bad has happened to you!

Lian's voice cracked and a tear fell down his eye.

Blizzard and zeus completely shocked of the scene in front of them, if not, they are confused.

As for max, he found it quite odd to see lian acting like this.

Max: Lian! Don't cry, I'm fine... Where's shadow?

Lian: I don't know where he is, I'm worried about him as well, but I'm very worried about you more!

Max felt himself blush madly at his statement.

Max: U-uhm...

Lian stared at max, lian's two-colored eyes gleaming at the beastmale's ones.

Zeus: Lian?

Blizzard: This is unfair...

Max: You two, let's go.

The four proceeded to investigate the ruin, along with lian.

Lian never left max's side, with his hand holding max's huge ones gently, lian felt safe.

Zeus and blizzard at the back, staring at max's back in a jealousy type of way, mostly blizzard.

Zeus: Why is lian acting like that?

Blizzard: I don't know about that, but more importantly, why is max living my dream?!

Blizzard shouted at zeus but in a soft tone to not alert max.

Lian: Follow me! I figured a way out of here!

Lian volunteered as he dragged max near to him and began to lead the way.

The two followed after.

Max: Slow down lian!

Lian: I can't! We have to get out of here!

Max: What? We can't go out here yet! We still haven't completed the mission!

Lian: Forget the mission! Let's leave this place already! It's scaring me.

Max: Scaring you?!

At lian's last statement, he took his hand and stepped away from lian.

Lian: Wha-? What are you doing?!

Max: What do you mean by your scared!

Lian: Max I can't explain it! This isn't a good time to argue.

Behind lian, there's a small demon that suddenly appeared and launched itself right at lian.

Lian rose his arm and his gun appeared and shot the demon, piercing it's head.

Blizzard: What the?!

Zeus: Huh?

Max: Lian... Since when did you get a new pair of guns?

Lian: I fixed it okay, now let's get out of here!

Max: No!

Footsteps can be heard.

Max's ear along with blizzard and zeus twitched.

Zeus: Do you hear something?

Behind lian once more, there appeared shadow along with...

Blizzard: Lian?

Zeus: Shadow!

Max was completely confused at the sight before him.

("Lian" - Fake Lian)
( Lian - Real Lian)

Lian: Max! Guys! There you are!

Shadow noticed "Lian" along with the rest of the group.

Shadow: Who are you with?

Shadow and Lian slowly approached them.

Blizzard: What do you mean who are we with? We are with "Lian" who are you with?!

Lian: I'm lian! Who are you with?!

Max: Hold on...

Max looked at lian who was with shadow, he turned his head to look at "lian" who was with them.

"Lian" : don't listen to them! I'm the real lian!

Lian noticed that this "Lian" is planning something.

Lian: Shadow, you remember the path we saw before we got here?

Shadow: Yes.

Lian: Good, now lead max and the others to it, I'll catch up later.

Shadow was about to ask what is lian about to do but at this point it's very clear on what's about to happen.

Lian activated his whip as he let the beastmen proceed at the path behind him.

He whipped the ground creating a slapping sound and a slight spark appear in the floor.

Lian: Alright "Lian" tell me more about yourself.
