3rd Person's POV:
Once the gate opened leading to the sanctuary, lian dragged charlotte as he quickly entered it, as he entered the long passageway, he felt his heart aching as if something bad happened to someone special to him.
When he arrived at the very end of the corridor, what he saw shocked him.
There onto the distance he saw his mother laying on the ground, not breathing, underneath her mother's deceased body was a pool of blood.
Lian couldn't control his tears and let it all out as he quickly ran towards his mother.
"Mother! No!" He held his mother dearly as he soon realized that he was already late, his mother was not moving anymore.
When lian finally opened his eyes after wiping the tears off his eyes, he noticed that the most precious relic that his mother was protecting her entire life was gone.
Charlotte approached the grieving male until something caught her attention, she looked over to the shadows just a few inches away from lian and his mother.
She quickly ran over and summoned her katana expecting the stranger to be a threat to all of them.
Suddenly she heard soft footsteps which made her react even more, when the footsteps stopped, the shadow then revealed an old man holding something charlotte was not familiar of.
Lian looked over and saw the same, an old man looking at them, he looks like he was about to perish as well.
Lian slowly lie his mother down as he stood up and approached the male and signaling charlotte to lower her guard down.
Lian helped the old man to walk as he was having a hard time moving himself.
When lian looked at the male in the eyes, he noticed something strange but couldn't but a finger on it.
Then the old man handed him his mother's "Witch's Core" an item that only witches and their children could possess.
He slowly took the relic from the man as he inspected the item, holding it made him feel like he was being hugged by his dear mother tightly once again.
He wiped the tear that was about to fall again as he held the core near to his heart.
The core soon attached itself in the middle of his chest and began to glow a bright violet light.
"AHHHHHHH!" Lian screamed at the top of his lungs as he was devoured by the bright light, the light slowly began to fade along with lian who also dissapeared in sight.
"Lian!" Shouted charlotte as she began to look over for him but he couldn't see him anywhere.
The witch's body soon began to glow too before fading and turning into small particles of violet crystals.
"It's time" the old man mumbled gaining charlotte's attention as he began to fade too.
Charlotte quickly ran over to the dying man as she received it's final words.
"Do not let the core fall into the wrong hands charlotte,
Lian, lian is our last and only hope to protect the symbol of the witches and wizards,
Protect him at all costs, many beasts dream of having that relic and using it for their own desires,
He.... He....." Before he could even finished he soon turned into dust, leaving charlotte with an incomplete explanation of what will happen.
Charlotte looked at her surrounding and lian was still not there.
"Where's lian?" She mumbled.
Lian's POV:
I woke up in a strange place when I noticed that my body was completely drenched in water.
When I stood up I looked at my clothes completely dry, I looked at the water and know that I was being soaked like I was swimming, but it just made me feel like it was an illusion.
I finally stood up as I observed my surroundings, there weren't anything here very much, it was just me in the middle of nowhere, I tried to look on the walls but there were no boundaries at all, it feels like a video game stage.
I then noticed someone sitting over the middle of this strange place, i tried to ask for help but when i approached the person i noticed it's clothing.
I soon realized that the person was my mother?! I rushed to her and when I finally got over her I was right.
There she was, sitting peacefully humming the song that always made me sleep back when I was little.
She turned around and gave me a bright smile, the smile that always made me happy making me feel protected and secure.
"Mother!" I crashed on to her as I hugged her tightly, she returned the hug as she slowly rubbed my back cheering me up which I did eventually.
"I can't believe is it really you?!" I quickly stated as I hugged her once again, if this is a dream then I don't wanna wake up, I just want to stay with mother for the rest of my life.
She then slowly pushed me away as she looked at me in the eyes.
"Lian...." She spoke, her soothing voice made me relax for some reason.
"You cannot stay here forever my dear sweet child" she added which made me confused.
"W-w-what do you mean mother? We're together again!" I exclaimed happily seeing her alive and well.
"Oh my dear lian.." She let out a soft giggle.
"You can't stay here yet my precious son, you have a task to do" she then pointed at her witch's core which was now planted in my chest.
"W-w-what?! How did i-" I was interrupted when mother removed her hands off of me as she looked at me, her tears wanting to burst but she was stopping herself from crying.
"My dear, dear sweet lian" with that she then faded and turned into violet particles.
"MOTHER!" I wanted to catch up with her until I began to see a bright light devouring me.
"What happened?"
The darkness soon came back, looking back at me, I was still confused on what she meant but after waiting for a few minutes I woke up back in the sanctuary.
When everything became clear I saw charlotte looking at me as she laid my body against her thighs.
"Lian! You're awake!" She cheered happily as she shaked my body over and over until i stopped her.
"Stop!" Charlotte soon stopped as she let out a soft giggle.
"Sorry!" Charlotte apologized when she looked at me with a worried expression.
The witch's core soon emit a light as it slowly entered my body, I was the only one who noticed that while charlotte kept on looking at me.
"So? What happened to you?" She then asked.
"I'll tell you everything later, but for now, let's get out of here" we both stood up as we made our way to the portal that will return us back to the human world.
When we returned back home I told her everything that happened back to my.... "Dream" and she soon understood all on what happened and what mother told me, it looks like she noticed the pain in my eyes so she comforted me after.
"Thank you charlotte, you're a real friend, but you know, i won't let this get in the way of my future"
I stood up as I told her I was okay, I loved my mother very much and to repay for everything she did to me, I will only focus on my studies first.
"Are you sure you're feeling better lian? It's okay to grieve you know" charlotte stated feeling sad for me.
"I know sis, but mother didn't raise me for just crying, she raised me to be a strong fighter, I may have lost my mother but that won't still stop me so don't your pretty face worry about it"
I smiled at her as she smiled her.
"Whatever floats your boat I guess"
