Santana had stayed in Brittany's arms after the kiss. Layed down with her on her bed. Slept pressed against Brittany's chest for comfort.

None of them had spoken since. The moment had felt right, like few things ever do. But they had not meant for the kiss to last.

Santana had found reassurance and comfort in it. Brittany- Santana did not quite understand why Brittany had wanted to kiss her. Maybe the blonde had felt Santana needed it. Brit had seemed to feel her pain on such a deep level that Santana was confused. Surely Brittany had kissed her in an act of selflessness. None of them were lesbians anyway.

Santana stretched her sore muscles, turning to check on the blonde beside her.

Brittany was peacefully sleeping in her bed, her breathing even and serene. Santana smiled tenderly, grateful that her friend had stayed to comfort her.

Her eyes drifted to the blonde's locks. The thin rays of sunlight seeping through the blinds refracted on Brittany's blonde mane, creating the illusion of an ethereal glow.

The Latina's hand wandered to Brittany's face, briefly stroking her hair. The softness of it surprised her. She stroked it again. Then again. Then again, repetitively, soothingly. Brittany's eyes fluttered open.

"Santana?" Her tone was dreamy, her drowsy voice husky.

Santana shivered. She removed her hand from Brittany's hair. She smiled at the blonde, carefully climbing out of bed, so as not to uncover her.

"I'm going to the bathroom. Be right back."

When Santana came back, Brittany was fully dressed. The bed was made, their bags by the door.

"Thank you for staying last night, Brit-Brit."

"Of course, San. Anytime." The blonde took a step back, an indecipherable look in her eyes.

It was as if she was admiring Santana, memorizing her every feature in case she would never see her again.

"Brittany? Are you okay? You seem-"

"Yes! Yes, I'm fine! Let's go!"
