Joker

I stood in the cold rain, drifting off.

I felt a tear slip down my face, blending in with the rain that was falling down my face.

Makeup smudged, tears spilling, heart breaking.

I felt my body give out as I fell to my knees, hitting the soaked dirt. Sobs racking my body as I let my emotions go.

I heard someones feet splosh in the water flooding the ground and place a hand on my shoulder.

I glanced up, eyes blurred and made out Frost standing above me. He had a sorrowful look in his eyes as he gazed down at me.

"C'mon Miss, it's late and this rain is only going to get worse, we can come back any time you'd like." He said softly.

I nodded. "I'll come to the car, just one more second please." I said quietly. He stared at me for a second before nodding and walking back to the car.

I turned back to the ground in front of me.

"I'm sorry Puddin...I've been trying to run things for you, Frost mainly handles everything. He's still loyal ya know, crazy hm? A lot of the men quit but not  Frost. It's almost been a month. I've come almost every day, I don't want to forget. I'm sorry. I'll get back one day Puddin, I promise." I whispered as more tears threatened to spill.

I stood and looked down at the headstone once more.

The longer I stood there the more heartbroken and disoriented I became. It all came rushing back, clear as day.

*FlashBack*

I struggled against the chains that held me back. The wind was whipping in my face, pulling my hair out of the pigtails it was in, blinding me temporarily.

I whipped my head up as I heard the door leading to the roof busted open, revealing an angry Joker. I grinned and laughed in relief.

"Puddin! Oh I knew you'd come! Hurry before he's back, I can't help much from these chains." I rambled quickly. He chuckled and shook his head, walking up to me.

He bent down and took my chin in his hand. "You know Harls, you sure do need a lot of rescuing. But god I love you." He muttered, kissing me harshly for a moment.

He pulled away and winked at me. I giggled and watched as he stood back up to remove the chains wrapped around me.

I saw something out of the side of my eye. I turned to the left and yelled out.

"PUDDIN! MOVE!" I screamed. Batman swooped and kicked J square in the chest, sending him flying across the roof.

He spat on the ground before picking himself up, a sneer spreading across his face as he faced Batman.

He clicked his tongue. "Well, it's nice to see you bats! Now if you don't mind, I'd like to get my lady off this dreadful roof before we continue our....conversation." He spat out at the masked man.

He didn't respond, but instead advanced on Joker, swinging. Joker met his swing, blocking and swinging back.

As they continued fighting I noticed they were getting closer and closer to the edge, J's back to the edge.

"Puddin! Be careful! You're going to-" My words made no difference.

He let his guard down to grab his gun from the holster and with that split second Batman kicked him once more in the chest, sending him off the edge.
