That word struck a nerve in me somewhere. I'm not sure why but it did. Somehow the green haired, tattooed freak in front of me felt familiar and....safe?
I scowled up at the man in front of me. He stood there, grinning with his arms crossed just staring at me.
"I don't know who you are or why I'm here. I don't remember this place." I spat out quietly.
He clicked his tongue and got closer to me, grabbing my chin roughly and forcing me to look up at him.
"You don't now but you will eventually. Now how about we jog that memory of yours?" He asked grinning.
He grabbed my arm and dragged me over to a big walk in closet. He pushed me through the doorway as I stood there.
I glanced back at him and he just stood there. I felt uncomfortable but walked forward, looking at everything.
Nothing seemed to be my, type, I think is the word. It was all clothes I would never wear. But again I got this familiar feeling.
I let my hand glide over all the fabric around me as I walked towards the back. I picked up the shoes sitting on the shelves decorating the back of the closet. I heard him behind me but ignored it while trying my hardest to see if something jogged my memory. Since obviously there was memories here.
I felt a tap and I turned around. He shoved a bundle of clothing and a pair of shoes into my arms and turned and walked out of the closet.
"Put it on, maybe that will help." He ordered. He shut the door behind him thankfully and I examined the clothing I was holding.
The shirt was white and basically see through with red decorating the collar and sleeves. Across the chest was "Daddy's lil monster". I cringed at the words.
The shorts were blue and red, split down the middle and very sparkly. And very very short. I cringed once again. Stuck around them was a belt I guessed went with them.
The next piece of clothing was a jacket. It was also split down the middle, one side blue and the other red. It had gold decorations all around it. I flipped it the back and cringed once more.
"Property of Joker" was scrawled across the back. Seeing the word Joker hit another nerve in me somewhere. My body felt weird and I couldn't shake the feeling. As I shifted what I was holding something fell.
I reached down and grabbed it, it was a choker of some sorts with the word "Puddin" on it. That word...
I tried to shrug it off and slipped the clothing on. I looked at myself in a mirror to the side and scowled at myself. I hated it.
But it felt familiar...
All of a sudden everything went black.
****
I awoke laying on the floor of the closet, the green haired man above me.
I sat up quickly, realizing I was still in the outfit.
Memories flew through my head, leaving a prison, being with a group of people, fighting off....monsters? Climbing up into a helicopter to the man in front of me. All wearing the same outfit I was in now...
He grinned. "Remember anything?" He asked.
I nodded, holding my head.
I spent the rest of the night following him around the house as he tried to bring back more memories to no avail.
He growled and slammed his fist into the table in front of him. He leaned over it, staring at the table like it was the most interesting thing in the world.
Then slowly a grin took over his face. "I know exactly what we need to do...come on." He said, grabbing my arm harshly and dragging me to the garage.
He shoved me in the car and jumped in, tearing away from the mansion. I scrambled to grab my seatbelt, scared out of my mind as we sped through the city.
"Where are we going?" I asked hesitantly.
"Somewhere that will bring everything back." He said grinning.
We screeched to a stop outside of a...chemical factory?
Ace Chemicals
He jumped out and stalked over to my side, basically dragging me out and inside the building.
It looked worn down and dangerous, but he didn't seem to care about any of that.
We entered through the bottom floor where there was huge vats you couldn't see over top of.
I winced as he gripped tighter on my wrist, leading me to a metal staircase leading up to a platform above everything.
We reached the top and he dragged me an edge that had no railing. I dug my feet into the platform below me and tugged backwards, trying to free myself from his grip as panic set in.
He looked back at me and slowly released my wrist. "I'm not throwing you in, even though I'd love to. Just come look over." He said, eyes never leaving my face.
I hesitated before creeping over to the edge, glancing over. My eyes widened and I quickly tried to move backwards, bumping right into him.
My breath caught in my throat. Right below the ledge was a huge vat of chemicals.
He chuckled, the vibrations hitting my back as his arm snaked around my waist.
"I remember exactly what I said to you the first time we were here. Should I jog your memory?" He asked lowly, his mouth dipping close to my ear. I just stood there, my heart racing.
"Question....would you die for me?" I heard him say.
I furrowed my brows and turned to face him. He stared into my eyes silently. I stuttered. "Yes?"
He grinned. "That's too easy....would you. Would you live for me?" He asked lowly. I felt my head pound.
****
"Yes." I said.
He jabbed a finger in my direction. "Careful. Do not say this oath, thoughtlessly...Desire becomes surrender, surrender becomes power." He said lowly, placing his hand around my mouth before dragging a finger across my lip.
"You want this?" He asked.
"I do."
"Say it, say it...say it. Pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty.."
"Please.." I finished.
He grinned in my face. "God, you're so good..."
****
My eyes snapped open and I looked down to see myself stood at the edge. I heard chuckling behind me. Puddin.
I turned harshly, losing my footing as I faced the green haired man. I reached an arm out and yelled out. "Puddin!!!"
I fell, plunging into the chemicals. I felt myself struggling as everything slowly went black. As I felt myself slipping I was grabbed and yanked to the surface.
I gasped for air as I grabbed onto the shoulders who held me. I blinked away the liquid and stared into the eyes of the joker. My Puddin.
"There's my Harley.." He growled out, grinning.
I grinned back and hugged him tightly. "Oh Puddin, don't let that ever happen to me again please."
"Of course not Harls...now let's go home." He said. I nodded.
*Batman's POV*
I watched from the shadows in Ace Chemicals as I watched everything play out. I knew if I didn't find them fast enough it would happen and I got here right as I watched her fall into the chemicals.
There wasn't anything I could do now. Now it's back to the clown king and queen running Gotham....
