Trying to be happy.

Chapter 18:

When I wake up I am still in Drew's arms , but Trina has moved up to my chest.I grab my phone from the floor and I have four calls from my dad and two from Eric I slide the one so that I can call my dad back.He answers on the third ring.
"Jasmine are you okay!"He asks he sounds panicked.
"Yes dad , I'm fine."I answer into the receiver.
"Look Jasmine I'm sorry I shouldn't have hit you."I wasn't expecting him to apologize.
"I'm sorry too dad I shouldn't have disrespected you by hitting."I say.
"It's okay Jasmine , will you be home tonight I have some news."He says.
"I'll be home tonight dad."I answer.
"Okay bye love you."He says.
"Love you."I answer before hanging up the phone.I scroll through my Instagram for an hour before Drew and Trina wake up at the same time.How do they do that?
"Good morning."They say in unison I smile and greet them the same way.Trina makes a quick breakfast.We all sit down at the table and begin to eat.
"How did you guys sleep?"Drew asks.
"Good I guess."Trina and I say at the same time.
"Here we go."Drew says rolling his eyes.We all laugh the rest of breakfast is silent.While Trina and I clean up the kitchen Drew goes to get dressed.
"So how is everything with you and Drew."She is so nosey.
"Good."I answer.
"We should have a sleepover tonight"Trina suggest.
"Sure but I have to go home my dad has something to tell me."I say and she nods.After we finish cleaning the kitchen we get dressed.I put on a tank top and some sweats that I left here.Drew and I talk about college for awhile before it is time for him to drive me home When we arrive at my house I give Drew a quick kiss before going into my house.My dad and a woman I have never seen is sitting in the kitchen.The woman looks Filipino and has long long black hair.She is actually very pretty , but who is she?
"Hello."I say putting my hand out for her to shake.
"Jasmine this is Kayla."My dad says slowly.
"Hi Kayla."I say and she smiles.
"She's my girlfriend."What did he just say.
"Your what!"I say slightly raising my voice.
"My girlfriend."He says.
"No she's not mom is your wife how could you do this!"I yell I storm up to my room and start to cry.How could he do this?She is not his girlfriend , mom is his wife and always will be.That is just his friend.He will get over her soon.I hear a knock at my door and I go to open it.There stands Kayla with a smile on her face.I roll my eyes and walk away but leave the door open.
"Look Jasmine I know about your mom , but I am in no way trying to take her place."She says , man I really wanted to hate her.
"Your not my mom and you never will be my mom is his wife get out of my room please."I say trying to stop tears.
"I won't force you , but I would love to get to know you if you would allow it."She says and with that she walks out of my room.I lay back on my bed and think of a world where my mom was still here.The woman seems nice but she is and will never be my mom.Maybe my dad will get over her.I get off of the bed and pack a small bag for Trina's house.I grab twenty dollars out of my wallet and walk downstairs.
"Bye dad , Bye Kayla."I say and they both smile and tell me bye.I walk to Chipotle for a little lunch.I need a car soon.
"Jasmine!"I hear from behind me.I turn around to see Eric.
"Please talk to me."His eyes are bloodshot and glossy.Has he been crying?
"Why so you can call me names and make me feel worthless."I say.
"No Jasmine please just one lunch, on me."Eric says.
"Fine but when I feel like leaving I will."I says and he smiles when we get up to the door he opens it for me.
"Thanks you."I mutter before I walk in.We sit in a corner and order our drinks.
"Look Jasmine I miss you.We weren't together for that long but you were different."He says.The waitress brings us our food.
"Should have thought of that , I have a boyfriend now." I say and sip my tea.
"You guys can break up."He says the moment the words leave his mouth , I am on my feet.I can't believe him.
"Wait Jasmine!"I hear from behind me.I keep walking I am not going to stop this time.
"Just stop please!"He says and I finally let up.
"What," I yell "What could you possibly want from me!"
"For you to listen."He says.
"I'm not breaking up with Drew."I say.
"Then let's start with being friends."He says as if it's that easy.
"You just did this to me Monday."I say.
"It's been a whole week."He says and I laugh.
"Your insane."I say and he chuckles.
"So can we be friends."He asks and I nod.I look at my phone and it is 5 in the evening.
"Can you drive me to Trina's house?"I ask and he nods.The drive is silent when we get there I give him a nod and walk into the house.
"Hey pretty girl , who drove you?"He asks and my heart drops.
"Eric."I say and his face falls.
"Why?"He saw me at Chipotle and I needed a ride.
"He doesn't need to be giving you rides , got it."He says in a threatening voice.
"I needed a ride calm down."I say.
"Then you call me not your damn ex , have you lost mind."He says.
"Have you lost yours , you will not speak to me that way."I say.
"Come talk to me when you get over yourself."I add and with that I walk to Trina's room.I tell about our fight and she says he will get over it.We watch an hour of Netflix.When we pass through the kitchen to get out cookies Drew scowls at me.He will get over it , he has to.An hour into Annabelle , Drew walk in the room.
"Goodnight Trina."He says and walks out of the room without a word to me.When the movie is over Trina and I fall asleep in each other arms.God what an eventful day.
