Trying to be happy.

Chapter 22:

I wake up to my phone playing Drew's ringtone.I look at the screen,before taking a deep breath and answering.
"Jasmine are you okay?"He asks through the receiver.
"Yes I am okay."I respond and he lets out a breath.
"Can we please talk?"Drew begs.He made a big scene at the restaurant,but that is partly my fault.
"Sure,but not at your house or mine."I tell him.Trina is nosy and so is my dad.
"Okay,i'll take you to a park.We can have like a picnic thing."He says and that makes me smile.
"Sure I'll be ready in about an hour."I tell him and he says he will be here.I walk to my closet I need something nice to wear.I decide on an orange shirt,black leggings with white hearts on them,orange flats,and decide to use my navy blue purse for today.I get my curling wand and curl my hair to perfection and realize it has been exactly an hour.I get my lip gloss out of my top drawer and lather it on lips,smooth my lips,and pucker them.I probably should not be kissing Drew,but if I can't get him to forgive me this is a last result.I put seven tampons,lip gloss,a comb,and my phone in my purse.I look in the mirror and feel like there is something missing so I put on a gold chain with orange flowers on it on to complete the look.I walk out of my room and down the stairs to see Drew.He is dressed in a baby blue,Ralph Lauren shirt,dark wash jeans,and baby blue Converse.He looks good.
"Hey,how long were you waiting?"I ask him.
"Not long,let's go."He says.I nod and take his hand in mine.
"You look gorgeous by the way."He compliments,kissing me on the cheek,before opening the door for me.I thank him before stepping in the car.He is in a much better mood,I wonder why.The ride is silent except for "Often" by The Weekend playing softly.I smile at the song because Drew always sings this to me,saying it should be our song.I always thought it would be "Love me like you do" by Ellie Goulding.When we arrive at the park Drew gets all of the stuff out of the trunk.He doesn't let me help carry it despite my pleas.He sets the blanket down and the basket.He looks so nervous it is just a picnic.
"Do you wanna talk about last night?"I ask him and he shakes his head.
"I'm sorry,Goodly called me and told what happened."He says.I smile and kiss his cheek.
"I love you,Drew."I tell him and he blushes.
"I love you,Jasmine."He tells me and I smile.We eat the meal talking about college.I didn't get accepted to Arizona or Pennsylvania,I hope Washington comes through.I look in the basket for another sandwich,but the only thing in there is a piece of cake.I take it out and take it out of the container.Drew is looking at me carefully.
"Why are you staring at me?"I ask.
"Cause' your beautiful."He says,making me laugh.He is so corny,quoting "The fault in our stars."I continue to eat the cake.In the middle of eating the cake I hit something hard.I pull out my fork to see a ring laying on it.I look at Drew and he has a bright,dimpled smile on his face.
"Is this for me?"I ask and he nods.The ring is gorgeous,i can't believe Drew is so sweet.I lean in and give him a sweet,long kiss.I put the ring on my finger.
"So is that a yes?"He asks and I look up at him.
"A yes to what?"I laugh and take a drink of my water.
"Being my wife."He casually states and I choke on my water.I have a brief coughing fit before recovering.
"You want me to marry you?"I ask and he nods.I need to think about this Drew and I are so young,but we do love each other.I do want to spend the rest of my life with him.I just don't know.
"I need time to think about this."I tell him grabbing my bag and standing up.He grabs the basket and the blanket and nods.
"Okay,do you have anything else that you want to do today?"He asks me.Yes,i need to go look for a car.
"No I am fine."I tell him.The ride to my house is silent when we get there Drew walks me to the door.
"Please think about my question."He says taking both of my hands in his.
"I will Drew,but we are so young."I tell him.
"I love you,but I might need a few more years."I add.
"I know Jasmine,but I know I wanna spend the rest of my life with you."He tells me and my stomach flutters.The minute that I am about to kiss him again the door clicks and my dad comes out.
"Hello Drew,how are you?"My dad greets Drew.
"Hi Mr.Ruffkins."Drew says.
"I'll call you later,think about what I asked you."He says,before hugging me and kissing me on my forehead.I walk past my dad into the house.
"That Drew is a very nice boy."My dad says and I nod.
"What question did he want you to think about."My dad asks.God he is so nosey.
"Umm..it was about Washington state." I ramble.I rush upstairs to my room.I take a quick shower and decide to go to sleep early.
I wake up to the sound of a horn honking.I get yo out of my bed and go to brush my teeth and brush my hair.I look outside my window and see Drew in front of a hot pink Volkswagen Beetle that day "I love you Jazzy" on the back.I scream and go downstairs.My dad is also outside,I go straight to Drew and shower him with kisses.
"You got me a car!Oh my God,I love you so much!"I scream and tackle him in a hug.
"Yea I thought that you'd like to have your own car."He says.
"Oh my gosh!I love you!"I squeal.I get in the car and press a button making the hood drop.I scream in excitement.This is awesome,Nobody has ever done anything like this for me.I call Trina and me,her and Drew spend the day,driving around.We all end up at my house,we fall asleep on the new episode of Degrassi.What a great day!
