Matsukawa stepped outside to have a cigarette, his fingers tingled with the relief of finally being able to relieve some of the stress he'd been feeling lately.

Homework had been building up steadily as the third year started as well as all the confusing business with who likes who and who he likes.

Atleast the nicotine always had his back. It was dependable and easy and, well, death, but if it wasn't affecting him right now then he didn't care.

He had met up with Hanamaki earlier in the day but he had quickly left, leaving to do his homework. The homework that Matsukawa had no intention of even starting.

Matsukawa decided to go on a walk, he ended up at Iwaizumi's house, his feet always seem to lead him there for some reason. Like a moth to a flame, or whatever other bullshit metaphors there are.

Mattsun had butt out his cigarette a while ago, so, with the need to occupy his hands with something, Matsukawa knocked on Iwaizumi's door.

It was Iwaizumi's mother who had answered and smiled kindly at Matsukawa.
"Hello Issei, Hajime is in his room, come on in." Her voice was sweet and soft, she had the kindest eyes ever, Iwaizumi definitely took after his mother in the looks department.

"Thanks." Matsukawa had always seen Iwaizumi's mother as his own, and she had been grateful to take on that role in Matsukawa's life, making pack lunches for him and checking in whenever possible.

Matsukawa stepped in and headed to Iwaizumi's room, not bothering to knock, none of the three ever did. Their homes were eachothers.

"Sup Haji." Matsukawa had walked in on Iwaizumi changing his shirt and he found a blush creeping to his cheeks as he moved further into the room.

Iwaizumi had finished changing into a more comfortable sleep shirt and sat next to Mattsun on the bed.

"Sup Iss, you good?"

"Yeah yeah, what you been up to today? i texted but you didn't answer." Iwaizumi checked his phone and saw that, yes, Matsukawa had texted him and, yes, he hadn't responded.

"Shit, sorry man, i was at a friend's house all day." That piqued Matsukawa's interest, what other friends did Iwaizumi have?

"Oh? Who's your new little friend then?" He had to admit, he was a tad bit jealous.

"Oikawa Tōru." Oh. So Iwaizumi finally caved and went looking for his old friend.

"Oh? How'd that go?" Iwaizumi moved to sit back against the wall and Matsukawa did the same, taking off his shoes and getting comfortable.

"Pretty well, he seems alot more reserved than he used to be though. Either way, it was nice to talk again."  Iwaizumi had a smile on his face showing that he really did enjoy the time he spent with Oikawa today.

"So, you find out why he's been gone?" Maybe he was overstepping a boundary, he didn't even know the kid but it did interest him. He was a nosy kid okay?

"Just shit at home, he lost his dad a while ago and it's been pretty hard on him since. He's doing online school." Matsukawa felt bad for him, he knew just what it was like to lose a parent, it was still really hard, even if you didn't even know them.

"hard shit. Well, atleast you two got to talk again, right?"

"Yeah i guess." Matsukawa shrugged his jacket off and crossed his legs, untangling his feet from the bed sheets.

"So, can i crash here tonight?" Iwaizumi looked over at him and shrugged nonchalantly. That meant yes.

Matsukawa grinned and went to the bathroom to wash up. His little crush was going to kill him faster than the cigarettes do.
