*music intro*
*me pulling up to lover 's house, picks her up, drives into the night, my right hand inching towards her thigh*
She had a face straight out a magazine
*she smiles, kisses my cheek at a red light*
God only knows but you'll never leave her
*she puts her feet up on the dash, lights a cigarette, ash falls to street as we cruise*
Her balaclava is starting to chafe
*runs her hands through her hair as she looks out the window, close up of her lips with red lipstick*
When she gets his gun he's begging, babe stay, stay
*quick clip of me wrapping my arms around her waist as we gaze out her bedroom window*
Stay, stay, stay
*pull up to secluded spot amongst the valley, go to hill and stargaze*
I'll give you one more time
*constellations flow in the sky, seemingly dancing and shining down on us*
We'll give you one more fight
*flashback film to old times at valley and petty fights that i miss now cuz simpler times*
Said one more line
*she hands me a cigarette, the smoke from each one (hers and mine) rise and intertwine together*
Will I know you?
*throw my cigarette down and put it out because i hate it, turn towards her and smile, caressing her cheek and pulling her closer*
Now if you never shoot, you'll never know
*flashback to me taking steps to reunite; closeup of my heartbeat*
And if you never eat, you'll never grow
*closeup of her heartbeat as she accepts*
You've got a pretty kind of dirty face
*with heart beating, she smirks to herself*
And when she's leaving your home
*film of her messaging me, then transition to her meeting me at nearby school*
She's begging you to stay, stay
*she embraces me, checks me out after pulling away, saying stuff like "wow. just.. you." or sum*
Stay, stay, stay
*flashback to the original dream, escaping reality*
I'll give you one more time
*side by side comparison film of her kissing me in first dream, then the real kiss in her room under lights*
We'll give you one more fight
*close up like a comic strip of our eyes meeting, lips shining in lighting*
Said one more line
*we both blush, whisper "i love you" in unison as we embrace; i wrap us in her sheets, go for more kisses*
There'll be a riot, cause I know you
*wake up the next morning, she wraps her arms around me in the sunlit kitchen*
Well now that you've got your gun
*film pans to me crying on my front doorstep after seeing a flashback of my grandpa*
It's much harder now the police have come
*bad thoughts come to mind as I think more and more, see my mom under a street lamp, slowly walking towards me*
And I'll shoot him if it's what you ask
*lover cries when i tell her my bad thoughts, sad because she wouldn't ever want to lose me*
But if you just take off your mask
*cut to another scene alone where i speed to the southside and cry under the stars alone, rip off my pandemic mask*
You'd find out everything's gone wrong
*stars shine down to my teary eyes, reflection of my mom and grandpa show in mirrors; i jump in surprise*
Now everybody's dead
*me being heartbroken that my friends and i's old times have faded, we're all going away soon*
And they're driving past my old school
*racing through the south back parking lot in the jetta*
And he's got his gun, he's got his suit on
*lover pulls up watches as i screech to halt and get out of car, fencing swords on my back*
She says, "Babe, you look so cool"
*she leans out the driver side window of her car, looking at me in the moonlight, says those words*
"You look so cool"
*i take her hand and lead her towards the building*
"You look so cool"
*jumps the fence and finds a ladder on the outside, starts climbing; we find our way to the top of the building*
"You look so cool"
*kiss under the stars; stargaze and point excitedly at sky as frame fades to black*
"You look so cool"
*white flash, then fast forward to glimpses of our future (college for me, Vermont, marriage, family and friends, romance, work, arguments, death, etc.)*
"You look so cool..."
*we enter a spirit-like realm, all of our friends run to us and greet us, we all hug and smile; lover and i appear again on high school roof, white light everywhere, we look at each other and cant help but smile*
