Hi all! Here is a document I recently found from my English class from two years ago. It is the POV of a character I made for a prompt assignment we had to complete. If you didn't know already, Holden Caulfield is the main character in 'The Catcher in the Rye' and this prompt is my character's advice to Holden as he continues his journey. Thank you.

Goodbye Holden Letter
Block 3
Dear Holden,
I hope this letter finds you in good spirits, as I know it hasn't been easy. You mentioned about going away, yet never specified where. I am writing to you in hopes of reaching you and making sure you're going somewhere safe. Listen to your heart, Holden, and don't be afraid to reach out to others for help, or hell, just to talk. Don't push people away, allow them into your life. As mentioned, that night in the bar, I was just like you when I was younger; I didn't want shit to do with anyone, and spent my days wandering around alone, making sure to keep to myself. Eventually, I became so depressed, I seeked help, and began to improve as time went on. I know what it's like, dear Holden, to lose someone dear, and to distrust this world. I've been there, and so have you. I know you probably don't want to hear it from me, nor anyone, but it's best you seek help soon. Live life the way you want to and try to be positive; my friend, it helps, it really does... That night in the bar, when I first met you, I didn't know what to think of you, honestly. You seemed so awkward and I wasn't so fond of it. However, I figured we could be friends after we started talking, considering how much of my younger self I saw in you. I could just see it in those innocent eyes (which you're all about, innocence) that you were pained like me and depressed, in need of some sort of attention. I've been there, and sometimes I still feel I am. I felt bad for you that night, and I can relate when it comes to being lost. Anyways, wherever this letter finds you, I hope you accept my parting gift; it's a pair of black gloves, just like the stolen ones you mentioned. I figured you could use them when the days are cold. I wanted to be able to give back something you once lost, that was taken from you. They'll keep your hands and hopefully your heart warm, alongside that striking red hunting hat. Goodbye, dear Holden, I hope to see you again one day...
Sincerely,
Daniya
