He stood motionless in the middle of the hallway as he watched the brunette take some of her clothes, and then return to the nursery, packing everything into a large suitcase. What was happening seemed unreal to him, first because his wife never had that look, and second because everything seemed to be in slow motion.

He saw her take down two suitcases, and leave them by the door before looking for something on her cell phone. A notification rang, and she nodded towards the device before putting on her coat, and going towards the crib bed to carefully lift Ryuu wrapped in the quilt, the baby protested sleepily for having been disarranged. The moment he saw Tenten hang both the diaper bag and her purse was when he reacted realizing that she had been completely serious in asking him for the divorce.

"Tenten, wait!" he grabbed her arm as she opened the front door.

"Don't touch me!" it was a low hiss to not end up waking up their son who had leaned his head against his mother's chest to continue dozing, "good afternoon," she greeted the cab driver who had just arrived, and had gotten out to help with the luggage.

"Tenten, please... we can work it out," he begged in a whisper as the driver had already put the luggage away, and had returned to the door.

"Anything else ma'am?" she held out the diaper bag.

"That's all," without seeing him, Tenten walked towards the car where the man opened the back door and the brunette got in, closing it at once.

"Tenten, sweetie," he didn't want to make a scene in the street, "please," he saw a tear appear on her face, but she wiped it away at once as she gave the driver the address.

When he heard the engine start, he took a step back and watched the vehicle drive away until it completely disappeared from sight. He could take his own car and go after them, after all, the address Tenten had given was his in-laws' house, but he doubted he could change anything with her so angry. Although he had said that it wasn't what it seemed, the truth was that it was obvious that it was. What other words could he use to express that he was indeed cheating on her so that it wouldn't sound so bad?

He walked back into the house, and let out a curse aloud, advancing to his cell phone to see that the conversation with Tayuya was still open and the picture instead of exciting him, provoked his anger. Normally he kept that specific chat archived so it wouldn't show up in the history, but when there were unread messages it did show up, and that was just what had happened. How could he have been such an asshole? When had he ever thought it was a good idea to have a mistress? How had sex seemed more important to him than taking care of his family?

He climbed the stairs and peeked into the nursery, the drawers were open and looked empty, on the crib were the two Christmas sweaters, hers and Ryuu's, although that didn't hurt him as much as entering their room, and seeing at once the glow on Tenten's nightstand that caught his attention so he advanced with quick steps to check that the two rings were there, the engagement and marriage, it was like getting kicked right in the pit of the stomach.

His stupidity had sent almost two years of marriage to shit, and the home that the two designed with illusion at that moment felt completely cold because the ones who filled it with joy were gone. He went to the kitchen, although Tenten didn't drink more than a glass of champagne in celebrations, they had a small well-equipped bar, so he grabbed a glass and filled it to the brim with whiskey, he had lost the most important thing in his life and everything had lost its meaning.

She avoided crying in the cab, although she could feel the driver's gaze from time to time through the rearview mirror, and was in no mood to talk. She knew her mother had had to work that day, but her father hadn't, so there would be someone at home when she arrived.
