She had never really moved in her life, meaning, when she got married and went to live in the huge property while Kiba finished the university, she had only packed the few clothes she had in a suitcase and that was it. When they moved in together to what was their home as a married couple, Yuuki, Aina and Narumi had been in charge of packing the suitcases, as well as unpacking things in the new place and she didn't remember which one of them was in the house when they delivered the furniture, leaving everything perfectly ready for them to just arrive and settle in.

To Zhengzhou she had gone with a suitcase with the maternal clothes she had bought, knowing that everything for the baby on the way she would have to buy once she settled in, getting a furnished apartment because her stay was temporary. For her return she had a couple more suitcases with some extra clothes and Haruka's things. So she still wasn't entirely sure what was in store for her with this new move where she would have to think about furniture and such.

The day she had boarded the plane to return from her exile she had everything moderately planned, she didn't know how long exactly it would take her to get a suitable apartment in her budget that didn't have many inconveniences, nor was it in an inappropriate neighborhood that would lead to them denying her Ryuu, her priority was to be able to have her little dragon with her, to get her son back. That was why she was going to stay with Hana maximum until the tenants handed over her mother's apartment, if by that time she still had nothing, she would move in with the woman while she kept looking.

Her mother had told her that she preferred to stay in her own apartment, therefore in what she had to get, she only had to consider her children's rooms, something with 3 bedrooms would be perfect because when she checked in the pages of apartments for rent the price would increase a lot if she was looking for something with more than those. She would sacrifice having a studio or home office in order to be able to have her children with her and pay for the place out of her own pocket. The realistic plan said she would be moving into a place on her own no later than 1 month after her return, and then Neji happened.

It was impossible to say that the apartment Neji had offered her was ugly or that she had a real objection not to accept it, beyond being out of her budget. In what she had seen in the pages when she searched, the rents in that neighborhood were above her pocket and that was why she hadn't considered it, she didn't want to rely on her ex-husband's pension because if he fell behind with the payment or decided to take it away she would be in trouble, so she only made her budget taking into account what had been her average salary in her job as a freelance translator. Said salary seemed good to her, so she still didn't know if she would look for an office job, she didn't like the idea of being away from Haruka so little and would try as much as possible to keep at home for several more months.

The ease with which Kiba had bought the house years ago or with which the Hyūga simply said he would deed that apartment in the name of a baby who wasn't even 5 months old overwhelmed her, but she had to consider that in both cases the men had done what they thought best for their respective children. Neji was merely looking out for his daughter's welfare, it wasn't up to her alone to give her a home and she couldn't stop him from trying to take care of the issue. So instead of waiting a full month, she had the place picked out the day after she landed and a real move to take care of.

Since she had bought the tickets for her return she decided to stop passing the pension money directly to Ryuu's fund, in all the time she had been away she hadn't needed it because her work was enough. However, buying furniture for an apartment, no matter the size, was going to require a significant amount of money and she didn't want to completely wipe out her savings, she was going to focus on the basics and that was all her children would need. Later she would worry about the smaller details such as decorations, rugs or having an ergonomic chair for her work.
