That Tuesday at the end of September was the first appointment with the pediatrician since she had returned and of course Neji had wanted to be present. A smile settled on her face at the doctor's expression for all the questions he was asking, the consultation was for Haruka's 6 months and when the man told them that they could start with complementary feeding, the Hyūga began to ask a thousand questions both concerning the allowed foods and the development of their daughter so far.

It was a quite patient doctor and after a few minutes he seemed amused because everything in the Hyūga screamed first-time dad, it was a strange mix because Neji still looked as serious as always, and at the same time asked about everything no matter how small it was, many of these questions she had lived them with Ryuu so she wasn't worried about them or knew that some of the data found on internet pages were sometimes somewhat alarmist. In the end they left the office with several brochures plus the date of the next checkup that the Hyūga at once wrote down in his agenda so he wouldn't have any meeting scheduled that day.

"Do you want to go shopping?" he asked her as they walked to the car.

"Shopping?" she doubted there was a single baby item she didn't already have, and her daughter had a supply of clothes at least until she was 2 years old

"Yes, we can go to the supermarket and buy what the pediatrician recommended to start her feeding."

"In the apartment there is everything necessary, besides, she is a baby, it's not necessary large quantities," a porridge was made with just 1 apple and half a carrot, she saw him a little disappointed with her answer, "fine, let's go shopping," she accepted and he smiled before opening the back door for her to accommodate Haruka in the special chair.

It had been just a little over 1 week since Neji stayed overnight with her for the first time in the apartment, and their relationship had definitely changed, it hadn't been something triggered by pity, so she was undoubtedly happy. She loved that they no longer had to hide or try their best not to be discovered, not to mention those kisses every time he greeted her and said goodbye.

It wasn't like they had suddenly decided to move in together or anything, they were going to continue to maintain their relationship in a somewhat similar way, except that he had come back to stay again the following weekend but they would still try as much as possible to take it slow before deciding if they really wanted to take the next step and have him move in with her.

Not that she could say that the Hyūga was someone very expressive either, in the apartment he acted pretty much the same as before, her being very much aware of how Ryuu would take knowing that his mother was in a relationship with someone else. Though that was a strange topic, meaning, Neji was his half-sister's father precisely and since she had moved into the apartment he went every day, so that was why the first night he had said goodbye to her with a brush of lips, she didn't see any reaction from her little dragon. And she had also talked to her son about Neji, his opinion of the man and the way he treated him, she wasn't going to put her relationship above Ryuu, fortunately they had liked each other from the beginning.

At the grocery store even though she explained that they wouldn't need large amounts of food, Neji put absolutely everything the pediatrician had mentioned into the cart, including a berry Greek yogurt that was Ryuu's favorite. She didn't want to tell him not to do it, she had already told him several times and on every occasion it had fallen on deaf ears when she made it clear that her son's expenses were her responsibility exclusively.

Similarly although she already had a credit card from the Hyūga, she used it to pay only for Haruka's things, all the other expenses of the apartment or her and her son were covered out of her own pocket thanks to the fact that she earned well in her job. She would never be able to ask Neji to give her something for Ryuu and it's not like she needed to do it either.
