She had checked several job posting pages, and had also asked at the university about the companies that other students had interned with in the past. She had also updated her curriculum vitae to add her languages, her current studies and no more, just like that time in the past when she had done it for the first time, she still didn't have a work experience to include.

Additionally before applying, she had looked up the names of companies to try to fulfill what Tsume had said about going to a reputable company. While it didn't matter much to her, she didn't want to be told that she couldn't work somewhere because it wasn't suitable for her married name, and for that reason be made to go to the family company. She bit her lip before she gave her first application a send, the idea of working for Shino didn't displease her, he was one of her husband's few friends that she actually remembered and liked, but she would leave it as a plan B.

She saw an offer from Sabaku corporate, and was about to send in her resume, but remembered that was the other option her mother-in-law had mentioned and that Kiba had been blunt in saying he wouldn't talk to Kankuro. As far as she remembered that was the man's last name, opting in the end not to send it until she confirmed whether it was him or not. She didn't know the specific reason for her husband's attitude on the matter, but she wasn't going to take it against him.

From the university they had been given the e-mails of some companies where they had previously hired students, so she had been sending her curriculum to them as well. It was a little frustrating to know that all she had left was to wait for a call from somewhere and go to interviews. She had only attended one in her life years ago, coincidentally the same day she found out she was pregnant. She took a deep breath without wanting to get anxious, she didn't want to appeal to her husband, it would be nice to be able to prove to herself that she was capable of doing something for herself.

December was just beginning, her classes had already ended and she had asked several times at the university about her internship, because among the things they had explained to them was the fact that they might sign a contract in January before classes resumed, so they should be clear about what the procedure would be in that case.

She didn't want to be frustrated or desperate, it had been a week since she had sent her curriculum to several places and she hadn't received any calls. She even checked to make sure her phone number was spelled correctly. She also didn't know exactly what her time limit would be before agreeing to let her husband help her, technically speaking she had until the new term started to get a place, but she didn't feel able to wait that long.

What if she was no good for work? What if people couldn't see her as anything more than a trophy wife studying for a diploma to show off? What if all those years of study had been in vain? She liked her career, she was sure she had made the right choice and that her languages would help her to practice it, but for that she had to graduate first. And to graduate she needed the damn internship.

On Monday she was watching her son putting a puzzle together, Ryuu was also already on his school vacation so she loved being able to spend her days with him. She was thinking about reaching for her laptop to do a new bid search or she was going to despair when she heard her phone ring. Because of the time she doubted it was her husband and checked it at once, it was an unregistered number.

"Hello?"

"Good morning, I am looking for Tenten Inuzuka."

"It's me."

"Pleased to meet you, we are calling you from the HR area of the Hyūga Company," her heart skipped a beat immediately and she was silent, "are you still there?"

"Yes, yes, I'm sorry, how can I help you?"

"We received your application for the internship position, are you still interested?"
