TRIS' POV:

"I love you, Tobias," I say.

He leans in slowly.

What is happening?

Is he about to kiss me?

Finally.

Tris Prior, the loner who eats too many chips, is about to be kissed.

I've never been kissed before in my life, don't know why. I always turned guys down in middle school, even if they were pretty cute, I guess I just didn't really get the memo of kissing.

God, Tobias is beautiful. His eyes, his hair, his everything. How can I almost kiss this gorgeous being.

It was at that moment, I realized I am lucky.

He passionately kisses my lips softly and breaks away. I smile as he looks into my eyes.

"I love you, Tris," he says in his deep grand voice.

He kisses me softly again, and I notice something.

I see him kissing me, I see and hear him talking to me, but I don't feel anything.

His hands around my waist, my hands around his neck, I can't feel any of it.

Then, I wake up.

I'm sitting on my couch.

I just dreamed that all.

For a second, I thought it was real, that, he was here with me, that he kissed me.

I should've known better, should've noticed he wasn't.

But I didn't know better, I am just a fragile girl who dreams about her boyfriend, her boyfriend in a coma.

My phone rings.

"Hello?"

"I will kill him." Lauren says over the phone.

My anger boils inside of my skin.

"Where are you, Lauren? I will find you, I wi-"

The line goes dead.

CHRISTINA'S POV:

"I'm tired of uno, can't we play another game?" I ask him.

He doesn't reply.

I laugh at myself.

"So, I got a call from Divergent High, they said I haven't been there for a really long time, so they are making me take summer school. They know you're in a coma, but all the other days you have been gone, you might have to join me, you know, if you wake up," I tell him.

"I wish you talk, you know, do something, I'm not really big on one-on-one conversations."

A nurse walks in and asks me to leave.

TRIS' POV:

"No, Tris. You are too weak to do that," she says.

I punch her across the face.

"Everything. Everything you've done Lauren, has caused me pain. I won't stand for that," I say as I punch her again.

She punches me back and something fires up inside of me, I set off.

We begin a full fight until she pulls out a gun.

"Like it? Bought it at the store with your ID," she says.

I feel fear but I don't show it as she points it toward my head.

She bought that with my ID? How the hell did she even get my ID?

She pulls the trigger and a sharp pain appears in my shoulder.

The last thing I see is Lauren walking away before a bright light takes over my vision, then everything goes black.
