Tobias' POV:
Our plan didn't work so well. I guess since Lauren escaped jail, she kept it a secret.
She can't go to school, and I have to start the plan sooner or later. I guess I'm going to have to see if she meets me.
The bell rings and I walk out into the crowded hallyway. My last class is with Tris, and I don't sit by her; but it's nice that Lauren isn't here, because Tris and I can make the weird faces we usually make when the teacher talks too much.
She looks at me as she is walking with Christina and stops at her locker. Christina walks off and I pad to Tris.
"I'm just going to wait for her to show up somewhere in a bush."
"Bushes are sometimes green!," Uriah yells, a few lockers away.
"Shut up, poopy," I reply to his loud comment.
Everyone knows about the Keefanla plan. We're in a team devising green-bush-hiding-stalkers.
Uriahs slams his locker shut, turns to me and sings, "I got one less problem without ya, ONE LESS ONE LESS PROBLEM."
He walks away casually and I turn to Tris. She is laughing silently as she shuts her locker.
She follows behind me as I head to class.
Mrs. Strange says the same thing she said yesterday and I ponder about the plan.
Tris is looking at me, I can tell, but I'm too focused on the creepy asshole that escaped jail.
Mrs. Strange is still talking and it's getting on my nerves.
The bell rings for about the 608th time today, and I exit the class. I try to walk out with Tris, but she goes to her locker and I don't.
I get a text from Uriah. It's a link to the song "Problem."
Oh my god.
No.
I keep walking.
I check bushes and I see nothing.
I walk past Lauren's house and the door is slightly open.
I walk in and Nachtmusik by Mozart (thats for you hiddleshugs) is playing.
I walk around a little bit unsure of what to do as someone pops out of the door next to me.
"What are you doing here?," Lauren's father asks.
"Um, looking for Lauren."
"Haven't you heard? She is in jail," he says with melancholy in his voice.
He must not know.
"Okay. I will be leaving now, sir," I reply.
"Before you go, can you change the song to Erin Kleine?" (thats for you, again hiddleshugs)
I nod, confused and walk into the living room.
The record player is on a table and a basket of records sit next to it. I take the record out and grab the record that says "Eine Kleine" on it.
I put it in the record player and walk back out to the hallway.
Lauren's father thanks me and I head my way out.
When I get home, my dad is attempting to make food from what I can see through the window.
Tris' car isn't in her driveway, so I assume she went out to eat like she said she might do.
I knock on the door and my dad opens it for me. He goes back to the kitchen and I set my school stuff down on a table.
"Take out the trash," my phyco father says.
I sigh and get up, walk to the kitchen, grab the bag of trash and walk to the back door. I open the door and walk to the fence.
There is a creepy cat in my alleyway and it stares at me as I pad to the trash bin.
"Hey," I hear someone say.
I look to my left and right. There is no one there.
I put the trash in the bin and turn around, tired and ready to sleep.
As I'm turning, Lauren is standing in front of my fence.
I jump back a little, startled of her appearance.
"Hey boyfrieeeeend," she says.
Ew.
"Hey," I begin shyly, "Wanna go on a date tonight?"
I say exactly what Tris told me to say.
Once I tell her where, she agrees and I tell her to meet me there.
I walk inside and call Tris. She doesnt answer. I call again and she picks up.
"Hello?"
"Hey. Call Keefanla and tell him to go to the Orange County Café."
"Keegan. And okay, I will," she replies.
She hangs up and I go to my room. My father seems too busy to hurt me tonight, and that's good, because I'm busy at the moment too.
I change into a big shirt and some boxers.
I sit on my bed and wait for Tris to call.
My phone is broken at the moment, so I'm using the home phone that I didn't even know existed.
I feel like falling asleep as soon as my phone starts ringing.
I pick up.
"He's on his way," Tris says.
"Okay. I hope this works. I love you."
I realize she has already hung up and I sigh, soon falling asleep.
Lauren was at a restraunt, supposed to be in jail, being stood up by a guy that is forced to date her, soon to fall in love, hopefully, with a guy named Keefanla.
I call Tris.
She answers.
"Tell Keefanla to bring back some pizza," I say.
"Keegan, and okay," she chuckles.
