Tris's POV:
The doctor's said I only had 2 months to live unless I found a lung doner.
Right now, I'm eating with all my friends. The only people who now about my lung problems are Four and Mason.
Why we are eating breakfast from McDonald's, I decide to break the news.
"Guys?" they all look at me then eat some more of their food.
"ionlyhavetwomonthstolivebecauseigotadisease." I say. "Slow down, girl, slow down." Christina says.
"I. Only. Have. Tw-" Lynn cuts me off.
"You know what we mean. Not that slow. " she says.
"Fine." I reply. "I only have two months to live because I got
pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis." I say.Everyone's eyes get wide except Mason, Four, and Zeke? Who told Zeke?
"So, why exactly are you dying?" Shauna asks.
"pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis." I repeat. Everyone sits there. Blinking at me.
"Lung problems." I say like I'm taking to 4 year olds.
I get up and walk to the bathroom. I sit on the floor. My heart is killing me. I can barely walk. It feels like my stomach is empty. Something moves inside of me. Back and forth, back and forth. I can feel it.
I fall to the ground. The only thing I can do is sleep.
Christina's POV:
I walk up into the living room to check on Tris. She could just be having girl problems.
I open the door to a sleeping Tris. I smile and laugh.
I notice something quite off. She is breathing, but her veins are very, very visable.
I pick her up and take her downstairs. Everyone is getting in their cars. Four sees me holding Tris and jumps out. He has hurt in his eyes.
"It's okay! I got her!" I yell. He nods and hops in his car and I hop in mine. We drive to the hospital. They take her to a room.
Four paces around the waiting room, and I sit there and watch him.
They take so long, I fall asleep.
Tris's POV:
A nurse walks in and smiles at me. She grabs a paper and walks out.
Christina's POV:
Four wakes me up and a nurse stands by him. "Okay." She begins.
"Tris is fine, but she will not be able to attend school this week until we find a lung doner. She has 2 more months to live, so on Thursday, if we don't find an organ doner, we have to pull the plug." She says.
"Can we?" Four asks as he points to the hall.
"Section 2. Floor 7. Room 4660." She replys.
We walk all the way to the other side of the hospital to section 2.
We get in the elevator with a really fat man that smells like B.O.
Once we get out, we laugh. We walk to Room 4660.
Tris lays there, eating jello. She smiles when I walk in, she frowns when Four walks in. Then she passes out.
"Well. It's getting late, and tomorrow is a school day, so im going to go home." he says and walks out the room.
Four's POV:
I walk home. Before I go to sleep, I get some food. On my counter lies Zeke's journal.
I open it to my day. It is day 3.
Day 3: Love is not selfish
Whatever you put your time, energy, and money into will become more important to you. It's hard to care for something you are not investing in. Along with restraining from negative comments, buy your lover something that says, "I was thinking of you today."
I sigh. I hate these things. I just want to quit, but I promised Zeke. I guess I'll just buy a few chocolates or something.
Tris's POV:
It's been a few days since I had to leave the party because my lungs didn't cooperate. The nurse said later tonight she would have to pull the plug supporting me, if we didn't have any organ doners.
I sigh. I text my friends.
They're pullin meh plug today - T
Aww. Omg. Be there as soon as possible. - C
Sorry. I would give you my lung, but I'm broke. - L
I'm so sorry dear. I'll be there quick. -S
That sucks. -W
Be there soon my sister - Z
Lynn you're a pansycake! -U
I smile.
Tobias's POV:
Today Tris gets her plug pulled. I counted the days. I sigh. I still love her I do.
Tris's POV:
11 minutes until they pull my plug. The whole gang is here besides Four. I kind of wanted to see him before I die. Oh well.
Mason had to go back to Galveston a few days ago. I wish he was here to say goodbye. He only said it over a text message.
9 minutes until they pull my plug. Everyone stands here. Caleb walks in and they all hold my hand.
7 minutes.
5 minutes.
2 minutes.
1 minute.
A nurse comes in and pulls the plug of the machine. Everyone had to leave except Christina and Caleb. Christina lied and said she was my sister.
My air strikes me. I breath in and out. I struggle to breathe. My tiny breaths are bringing back memories.
I feel a stop coming on. I breath and breath and breath until it's to hard.
I can't breath anymore. I fall down on my bed slowly. Christina is crying and Caleb is sobbing.
My eyes flicker closed.
