Tris's POV:
Today the gang brought me some breakfast. My lungs hurt and feel very different.
My friend's told me Mason gave me his lungs and that made me really happy. I could of died without him. I also know it cost a lllooottt of money.
I sit back in my hospital bed. It's Tuesday and this week is going to be very long.
I am supposed to take school on a computer for a week. My old friend from middle school used to take school on a computer. Her name was Paris. She was taken out of public school because her mom didn't like me. It really does suck, and I thought she was overexaggerating.
I open my laptop and open the normal icon. A doctor walks in and changes out my air pack. She says it should be off by Saturday and that I'm doing well before walking out.
I decide to call in a nurse and take a few pills for sleep because I'm so tired but I just can't get comfortable.
I pop the small powdery things into my mouth and it takes a little while before I finnally drift off..
I wake to an open door, a nurse, and sunshine. The nurse smiles at me and I look at the clock. It's Four o'Clock.
"How was your slumber, dear?" the nurse asks me.
"Good. In fact, very good. That medicine worked very well. I have a few cramps here and there but other than that, good." I reply. She smiles at me and closes the bag connected to my tube and walks out.
My phone dings and I grab it off the side table.
remember those dresses we bought for the dance a week or few ago? - C
I reply quickly, bored as hell.
yes, why? - T
She begins typing and I find myself sleeping again, but I regain myself as the phone dings a loud noise.
they kind of got ruined when Mason and Four were fighting... - C
I gasp.
Four and Mason were fighting? - T
Yes, you didn't know this? - C
No. - T
I thought Zeke left you a voicemail..... - C
I exit my messaging app and click on phone and there it is. Missing voicemail from Zeke. Why didn't it show? Did someone delete the notification?
I see it now. leme listen to it. - T
okay. - C
okay. - T
I go back to phone app and click on the voicemail. I'm still confused why it didn't show on my lock screen, but I listen carefully.
"Hey Tris." he said through the phone. "Four and Mason kind of.. got in a fight. Now, Four has a black eye and Mason is in the hospital," the way he says four isn't stuttered at all, and I wonder if his friends know his name is Tobias, I think to myself as he speaks, "So, yeah.. They spilled punch on your dresses that were laying on the couch and we are trying to clean it right now." he finishes and says bye.
I feel tears forming in my eyes. Not because of the dresses, but becase Mason is in the hospital. Who knows what condition he could be in?
I press the power button of my phone. I press it over and over again. I have nothing else better to do and while it is getting dark, it looks pretty cool.
The words pop on the screen over and over again. No messages. I press it twice again, no emails. I press it twice again, no- what?
The date says Friday. Friday? Last time I remember, it was Tuesday afternoon when I took the medicine!
I press the red button on my side table and sooner or later, a nurse walks in.
"How may I help you, darling?" she asks me. "How long did I sleep?" I ask her.
She giggles and looks at me. "You're just now figuring this out? The medicine last a few days." she says and asks me if I need anything.
I shake my head before she smiles and walks out.
It's Friday morning. I can't believe it. Mason said he would visit me everday. I feel bad now.
I grab one of my pillows and put it on top of my head. I'm so bored. kind of glad I slept for a few days.
I hear the door open and I assume it is a nurse. I pull the pillow off my head.
I guessed wrong.
