Tris's POV:

It's a Monday morning, so I change into my favorite shirt. It says '2 cool for teachers'.

I put on my denim shorts and black Jordan's.

I don't feel like eating breakfast so I hop in the car. I think about Four. I don't want to see him. I made him leave with the others because I was still angry. He kissed Marlene! When I'm his girlfriend! We haven't even kissed yet.

I was thinking about giving him another chance though. I'll tell him when I get there.

I park my car and walk inside. Four's locker is 0004, so I walk all the way across the school and find it.

Once I get to 0004, he is not here, so I look around. Then I hear lockers slamming. I turn around and he is kissing Lauren.

I feel tears brimming in my eyes. I walk to science alone. Uriah catches up to me.

"What's wrong, Tris?" he asks. I point backwards to the kissing.

"He probably didn't mean it." Uriah says. I point at Four putting his hands on her cheeks.

"Oh." Uriah says. I frown. We walk to class together. I sit by him. Four walks in with lipstick stains on his face. Everyone laughs. He asks me for a mint (A/N get it? 5th chapter? Mints? haha) and I shake my head. I put my mints in my purse where they will be hidden. He looks at me confused.

I roll my eyes. I talk to Uriah instead.

We walk to language arts and Four catches up to me in the hallway.

"What's your problem?" he says. My face turns angry red. "MY PROBLEM IS THAT YOU ARE A DIRTY LITTLE GIRL KISSING GIRLFRIEND PLAYING JERK!" I scream. I would cuss, but people are staring. The principal stares at us then shrugs it off and walks away.

He looks confused. Tears fall down my face and I walk into class. Uriah throws spitballs at the kid in front of us. I pull out a piece of paper.

I write:

' sorry to say this, but I'm breaking up with you. How could you do this to me? I saw you and you act like you didn't do it. I can't believe I ever said yes! To even being friends with you! It's over. Done. I'm free now. Bai xoxo - Tris '

I hand the note to Uri and nod my head in the direction of Four. He hands the note to the kid behind him. Everyone who gets it reads, has a sour look on their face, then passes it to the next person. It finally gets to Four.

His eyes turn dark gray and his face looks astonished. I smirk then walk out of class. I head to social studies with Uriah. Zeke meets us Im the classroom. Four now sits alone.

"I heard what happened." Zeke said. I'm going to kill him." He says. I look over at Four and smirk. His eyes look..... watery? He has red dots on his face?? Was he crying?

I walk to music with Christina. She starts talking about the dance, and this time I listen, because I need to get Four out of my head.

"So. We need to go shopping. I don't have a car. Can you drive us to the mall after school?" she asks. I nod. She squeals. We walk into the music room and a lady with two teeth sits at the desk. sub. Great.

I was actually surprised that she let us sit and talk for the whole period. Me and Christina talk about the dance.

Four walks up to me and grabs my arm. Christina and the girls are so close I could take two steps and I'm there, but he holds me back. I try to break free, but he grips. Hard.

"Ow." I say. He loosens. "Sorry. I just cant lose you again." he says. "Oh, go kiss your girlfriend." he says. He raises an eyebrow. "Is this what this is about? Marlene?" he asks.

"No. Well, yes. Maybe. Kind of." I answer. "What?" he asks confused.

I start to cry. "You've been weird lately Four! You kissed Marlene longer than me! in fact, we haven't even kissed yet so that's more offending! And you kissed Lauren this morning! Can't you ever accept you have a girlfriend who cares??" I ask.

He looks hurt. I don't care. I want him to be. "I didn't kiss Lauren, she kissed me." he says. "Oh yeah, right! Why did you like it? I saw you touch her face!" I'm yelling now. At least no one is around.

"She grabbed my hands and put them on her cheek, neck, and other places we shouldn't mention!" he yells. I chuckle. Silence. Then I get angry again.

"What about Marlene?" I ask. He hangs his head low. "I didn't like that kiss. I imagined it was you. I wanted you. When I pulled away I realized it was Marlene. I was disgusted. I just want that kiss to be ours. And I thought it was." he says.

"Fine. I'll give you a second chance." I say. His eyes return to the blue color they are. "But, I'm going to the mall, so you have to find a ride home." I say. He nods.

The bell rings and I hop in the car with Christina.
