Chapter 22- Mrs. Smith

Tris's POV:

I expected Four to be back by now if he truly loved me. He isn't. I walk to school in my 'loner foreva' shirt and purple denim shorts.

I get to the school, and the group is waiting for me. I walk to science alone. People keep trying to comfort me, but I like my space today.

I fall asleep in most of my classes and Uriah wakes me up each time.

Once lunch comes, I eat my food. Christina walks up to me.

"So, wanna skip class and go to the mall?" she asks. I am mostly a parents girl, but they aren't coming back, so I nod. She squeals.

I feel my inner bad girl forming.

Once I finish my lunch, we sneak out the door and hop in my car.

We drive to the mall, and I grab my wallet and sunglasses and walk in. I go to Rue 21. I buy a black crop top.

I go to Forever 21 and buy a new phone case. It has blue sparkles fading into white sparkles.

When I walk into Papaya's, and buy a light blue lace dress.

Christina bought a few things, and we walk out to my car.

Once we get back to the school, we see people crowded in front ofthe doors. I don't see teachers. Probably because it's the end of school. I only came back because I left my homework in my locker.

I walk over to see Uriah and Tobias fighting each other.

My jaw drops.

Christina jumps in front of them. Four punches her. I scream. He looks at me and everyone goes silent.

"Baby, I missed you." he says. He starts kissing me on the neck. I hate it. I push him off.

I help Christina find some ice. Will joins us.

I drive home to see Caleb screaming and throwing things.

"Caleb. Caleb. Stop. Caleb." I say. He throws a chair at the wall. "Brother, stop." I say. He looks at me, his eyes wide.

"They're sending us away." he says. "Away? Who is?" I ask, my voice getting louder.

"Yes, away. Mrs. Smith." he says. "WHO IS THAT?" I'm yelling now.

"She is an orphanage mom in Galveston, TX. She somehow found out we were living without parents. She took in the deposit ofr our house. We're moving!" he screams.

I feel a tear drip down my face. My friends...Fou- no. I can't. He ruined my perfect life.

I take a long nap.

I awaken to the sound of people speaking. Strange men are in my house.

"What are you doing?" I ask. "Packing your things." they say. One man grabs a few suitcases and puts them in the car. I try to reject but they push my brother and I into the car.

I walk into a large building. Mrs.Smith greets us. I sit down and talk to her.

"So, who told you about Caleb and I?" I ask. She thinks for a moment.

"Was it Laura or Laurie or Lorax or Laurence or Lau-" I cut her off. "Lauren. " I say. She nods then frowns. Blood drips from her mouth and I see a knife in her stomach.

She falls to the ground and threre stands Lauren.
