Keith and I exited my room soon after I manged to calm myself. There was a tension as we walked, not a word spoken between us. When we met up with the other, Shiro was the first to approach, giving my shoulder a light squeeze before we met joined the others. I realize as we were exiting the ship that we were on Olkarion.
"We've made great progress while you were gone." We had met up with Coran. The older man explaining to us what he had been doing while we were all away, "And now that we have the scaultrite, we should be finished in less than a quintant."
"Wow," Lance was in awe, "That's one giant teludav."
"Nice work Coran." Keith added.
"Good job, Coran. Fist bump." Coran did as Hunk asked, "Now blow it up."
Coran's eyes went while, a mixture of shock and a slight bit of fear shining in them. "Oh, don't you dare! It took forever to build this teludav, and let's not forget it's a pivotal piece that we need for our plan to defeat Zarkon."
A light, tried chuckle left my lips as I placed a on Coran's shoulder, "I don't think that's what Hunk meant."
A screen popped up along with a sudden beeping. "Aaah!" Coran cried out.
A strange long creature appeared on screen, one that I hadn't seen before. "I've made some improvements to your design." He spoke, "This will increase our chances of survival in the reality 205 percent."
I couldn't help but raises an eyebrow a little as Coran turned back to the paladins. "Is this guy a little?"
Shiro, Pidge and Lance all looked unimpressed.
"Yes."
"No doubt."
"Not a fan."
Coran turned back to the screen and a sudden panic seemed to come over him, "Stop hitting the teludav!" His shout was followed by a small explosion and the strange creature groaning in mild pain.
I stood with the paladins looking out over the world we found ourselves on. The sun setting before us. It was peaceful. I wish I could say the same for inside my mind. The nightmares I had seen haunted my every thought. I feared what it meant. Was it just my fears getting to me? Stress from fighting a war? Was it Just a side effect of Kage's absence? Or had my father truly gotten in my head?
I shock my head. Forcefully shifting my thoughts to my family. Ava, Izaya, Jordan and Kiren had gone off on there own missions. Though Kolivan had told my brother that this fight was more important he had disagreed. Izaya had managed to convince our leader that finding our siblings was more important. After all, most of them your quite well trained and formidable opponents on the battlefield.
"What's everybody thinking about?" Pidge's voice broke through my thoughts, bringing me to the present.
"Zarkon" Shiro state simply.
At the same time Hunk had his own answer, "Calzones." We all turned to him. He jumped a little, "I mean, uh, heck. Yeah, I'm thinking about calzones. okay?" Hunk let out a sigh, "I mean, does it always have to be about Zarkon? He's a bad guy. We're trying to defeat him, I get it. I'm hungry."
"We've come a long way." Keith turned back to the sun set.
"Yeah," Lance smiled, "Remeber when Hunk used to throw up in the elevator?"
Hunk frowned, letting out a groan, "You guys remember that Arusian, Klaizap? I think his name was? Cool name."
Lance's laugh fills the air for a moment . "Yeah, Keith tried to beat him up even though he's the size of a peanut?"
"He was there bravest warrior!"
"How about the time the food goo machines attacked us in the kitchen?"
"That was the scariest thing that's happened to me the entire time I've been here."
"Oh come on." Lance said in disbelief.
I smiled as they reminisced about their journey so far. I was proud of them, but their was also a apart of me that was sad. It was moments like this that only made me wish I still had my memories. Then I would be able to share this with everyone. The feeling of Keith's hand grabbing mine stopped those thoughts. He whispered, "Hey, it's okay. We'll find a way to get your memories back."
I looked down at my hands. Black lines slowly spread from my finger tips past my wrist. I took a deep breath and smiled at Keith. The lines stopped spreading, but unlike every other time this had happened, the didn't disappear.
"You realize once we defeat Zarkon, the universe won't need Voltron anymore." Shiro stated. A moment of realisation came over every one. As though none of them had truly consider what it would be like for this to end.
"We can return to Earth."
"I can look for my family." Pidge looked up to the sky, as though already searching the stars for those she had lost.
"I guess I can look for mine." I squeezed Keith's hand and offered him a small smile.
"This is it. As long as everything goes according to plan, we can't fail." As the sun set, we all stood there. could it really be so simple? Could we really end this war?
