Hivewires

Jumbles of live wire, these float around shooting out arcs of electricity randomly. they're seemingly blind, using small "feelers" to catch a scent of prey. Whenever prey is found larger wires will shoot out and grab smaller animals and shove them into themselves.

On larger animals, or even humans they will use the electricity to shock them into a state of paralysis and use sharper tendrils to hack away limbs off of the animal, only then its feeds on them.

The sound they make is horrifying, it sounds like the hissing of electricity but mixed with the screams of hell itself. It's enough to cause new hunters to wet themselves in fear. Hell, they even give me the willies.

Hivewires come in different sizes, small, medium, large, and Extra large. The rarity goes up with the size of them though, you almost never deal with the larger ones. The smaller ones though... let's just say they're a nuisance, and on occasion a big threat.

The small and medium ones are susceptible to EMP devices, a single device will knock them down for good. They seem to get larger with age though, and the older they are, the stronger. The larger ones are almost impervious to EMPs. gotta break em down a lot before they're of any use.

Extra-large ones are bad, i mean Bad. they almost never come up since we make it a point to stop them from getting to even medium size, but every now and then they grow up to become monstrous in size.

I once had a call for an extra-large one, it was around the size of an apartment building and just floating there grabbing what ever was within reach. Given its size, a lot of things were in its reach.  Took us a day before it was possible to use EMPs on it to finally take the bitch down.

Wear anything that blocks electricity, do not at any point let bare skin touch the ground. they send shocks through the ground to disable anything around them.

but that's all I have for you, pretty basic until it isn't.

Im actually the one who came up with the name, the naming guys were coming up with some really god awful ones, Fellow hunters hated the names and gave them nicknames. Until I started calling them Hivewires, and that was that. the names stuck ever since. -Void
