Finally, after days of hopeless investigation, Wuxie and the team were happy that they got a lead.

Wuxie's intuition was right to check on that government employee's case. He found the details of the case absurd.

Meng Zi Yang, was a 40 years old Municipal officer. He was in charge of the child welfare department of Beijing. On the day of the murder, that is September 14, 2019, he had work and was home at the usual time. But according to the murderer's statement, Zi Yang came home around 7 PM. This was enough for Wuxie to suspect a conspiracy behind the double murder. That's why he sent Pangzi to fish out information from the convicts themselves.

At city central prison, Beijing.

Pangzi could easily sneak into the prison. He had already done it countless times for his previous cases. Pangzi wore a police uniform to avoid suspicion and walked aiming to the prison ward where the murders of Meng Zi Yang and his wife were. He was all set for the drama.

Pangzi greeted the guard who was in charge of the section. That man was Pangzi's trusted one. The guard opened the grilled door which lead to the corridor. Pangzi was chilled. No tension at all. He walked crossing several prison rooms and finally reached his destination.

Pangzi opened the iron door with the keys he prepared in advance. He closed the door behind and turned to see two men lying on the beds on either side of the room. They didn't care who just opened the door. Either of them spared a look at Pangzi. Pangzi smirked at them.

"What's with the hostility. I come in peace brothers." Said Pangzi grabbing the attention of both prisoners.

"We are already at peace. No room for more." Said the one who occupied the bed on the right side. He was tall and covered the bed fully. His eyes were fierce. But it didn't stay on to Pangzi much long. He closed his eyes and went back to his earlier resting position.

"I know your boss wronged you keeping you guys here this long. But now it's time to go out. I can help you." Pangzi said baiting the two. He hoped any of the fish took it and give in some useful information.

The one to take the bait was the convict on left. He was a little bit fat, maybe got fatter in this prison. But his eyes too were merciless. No doubt they are ruthless killers.

"What do you know? Whoever your boss is, he can't get us out here." He said mockingly.

"That's not true. My boss is a big shot. We need you guys for a job and considering the reward, he will do anything to get you out of here." Pangzi said confidently.

"Is it? Then who is your boss?" Asked the same man again. Even though they didn't lose the cruelty aura, they had a mocking tone.

Pangzi was suspicious of this behavior. Why they are so sure they can't come out of here? Are they too loyal to their boss? Who could it be?

"I'm sorry. Can't reveal it before you accept the deal. Once you both are out here, he will meet you. Trust me he is powerful." Pangzi said hiding the identity of his imaginary boss.

But to his surprise, the tall man on the right started laughing uproariously. It was scary as the laugh echoed in the room, deafening Pangzi.

"Who can it be? Is he more powerful than the president? Hahaha... Hahaha..."

Both of them started laughing making Pangzi shook. Suddenly someone knocked on the door. Pangzi didn't waste any second. He pulled the door open to reveal the guard from earlier. He informed Pangzi that the prison superintendent is coming. Pangzi immediately rushed out of the room, locking it.
