Chapter 27.2 Wolf in sheep's clothing

With a heavy headache, Wuxie woke up. He pressed tight on his forehead when an intense wave of pain hit him. "Arghh."

He couldn't even sit straight but slowly the pain subsided making him regain his sense. That's when what happened came thrusting into his mind.

"Xiao Ge!?"

Wuxie jumped up to sit only to meet a new face sitting in a chair by the bed he was lying in.

"Oh finally... Hi. I was waiting for you to notice me."

"You? Wait! You're Zhan Junbai!!!"

Wuxie was shocked to see Junbai himself sitting before him. Unconsciously his hand went over his pants pocket. He tried to feel and luckily the SD card was still inside it.

I think he doesn't know about it yet. But where is Xiao ge?

"Where is Xiao ge? What did you do to him?" Wuxie asked furiously.

"Zhang Kylin? He is a lot stronger than you boy. This small drug... doesn't have much effect on him. He is already up... long ago..." Zhan Junbai said. His eyes were showing how marvelous he thinks Kylin is.

"... and you know what? I didn't expect my men to get him without even fighting. Hahaha... All thanks to you."

"Me?" Wuxie was confused. What did I do? Why is saying we got caught because of me?

"Yes. You. You know, when the glass on your side broke... He reached out to you exposing his neck to my guy who stood on Kylin's side. I don't think he didn't see what was coming... his priority was you." Junbai said with a creepy smile in his eyes. He was enjoying all changes in Wuxie's fae like a manic.

Where Wuxie... he couldn't say anything. How much he wants to deny it, it was the truth. If only Kylin had protected himself without worrying about Wuxie... they could've at least escaped.

"Okay... enough of drama. Your friends are waiting outside. Come out. We are at our limit, you know?" Zhan Junbai said as he walked with a satisfactory smile.

Then only Wuxie got a good look around him. He was in a hospital room. Not just any hospital. Their hideout.

"You brought us here!?" Wuxie ran outside following the man.

As he said all of Wuxie's gang was there waiting for him. Wuxie scanned around the room and them. None of them were tied up. But there were some guards at the door.

"Wuxie... come here." Xiao Hua called Wuxie towards him.

Wuxie was pulled down to sit as he reached his friend. But instead of facing Wuxie towards him, Xiao Hua made him face Yuzhi.

Without any exchange of words, Yuzhi took Wuxie's hand and checked for the pulse.

"He is okay. He slept in because if his body is tired." Yuzi commented.

"Oh, come on... You know how hectic these days are. See, Dr. Yuzhi says I'm okay. Xiao Hua doesn't worry."

Wuxie said to console his friend. "But can somebody please explain what's happening here?"

Wuxie again glanced at Junbai... who was extremely calm even if he was unarmed and sitting so leisurely among the mighty seven.

"Well... not much to explain. Mr. Zhan says he's not the one behind the child abduction and illegal drug experiments." It was Yuelou who speak up.

"Word of a thief! So irrelevant." Wuxie scoffed.

"He also says he knows the actual culprit and he can help us get him." Yanjing completed.
