Flashback to the day before the second task:

"Granger!" called out a familiar voice, making Hermione reluctantly turn around to face the girl. "Katherine." replied Hermione stiffly, her glare not faltering, in fact, it only became colder at the rather satisfied look on the girls face.

"I've got a bet with you, you see," began Katherine with a smug smirk. "If Y/N doesn't win the second task, she's all mine. And mine only."

"And why exactly should I agree to such a thing?" scoffed a scandalised Hermione, eyeing the girl up ad down with a disgusted look etched on her freckled face. "She's not an object that is to be gambled with!" she snapped.

"Aw, what's this?" said Katherine, changing her tracks and going with the guilt-trip card. "Looks like someone doesn't have faith in her own girlfriend?" she tsked with a sly smile.

"You know what? You're on." said Hermione through gritted teeth. "And if she does win, you're never going near her ever again. Deal?"

"Deal."

Two days had passed ever since Y/N had won the second task. Everyone that supported her were obviously euphoric, but nobody seemed to be happier than her girlfriend. In fact, Y/N found her behaviour quite weird, but she definitely wasn't complaining, considering she didn't really enjoy her girlfriend reprimanding her like a mother would.

The couple were spending time with eachother in the Slytherin girls dorm, sitting on top of Y/N's bed. "Y/N, have you done the History of Magic's homework? I swear Professor Binn's driving me mad with the amount of homework he's giving." groaned Pansy.

"Yeah, it's in my bag downstairs in the Common Room." said Y/N with a nod, Pansy immediately standing up, her exhausted expression now replaced with a wide smile. "You're a lifesaver!" yelled Pansy as she sprinted out of the bedroom, leaving the two girls all alone.

Y/N turned her head to face a completely unbothered Hermione, to her complete utter confusion. "Not even gonna scold me for allowing her to copy off my homework?" queried Y/N curiously, growing even more confused as the bushy haired girl only smiled in response. "You've been acting quite weird lately." she said.

"Hm?" hummed Hermione with a small raise of her eyebrows. "How so, my love? Tell me." she said, although she seemed like she knew the answer considering her sly demeanor.

"Just— I don't know, just weird." said Y/N uncertainly, watching Hermione suddenly lifting her wand up, muttering an incantation to slide close the curtain around the bed. "Mione?" she said uncertainly, her breathing becoming quite ragged as she suddenly felt the air growing hot.
