Chapter 29 - Holly Henderson

Makoto quickly reached for his phone, and called Holly. Holly answered. When the call started, both the two were silent.

MAKOTO: Holly...

HOLLY: Makoto...

MAKOTO: Holly, have I, been a dick to you lately?

HOLLY: What do you mean?

MAKOTO: I feel like, I don't know...

HOLLY: Your voice, is so soft...

MAKOTO: Holly, I need to get alot off my mind right now. And I-

HOLLY: No no Makoto, it's okay. I know it's hard.

Makoto started crying.

MAKOTO: Holly... I'm sorry.

Holly was confused but then, she knew.

MAKOTO: I didn't mean to hurt you, I never wanted it to happen. Ever since the incident at school. I've been neglecting you all this time. I should have told you earlier.

HOLLY: Makoto, I want to talk with you for a long time. But, right now. We have to save Sundeen.

MAKOTO: What? What do you mean.

HOLLY: Makoto, right now, I understand the first thing you want to do is avenge your brother.

MAKOTO: Holly, that's not the first thing I want to do. The first thing I want to do, is see you again.

Both Makoto and Holly smiled.

MAKOTO: Can we meet up somewhere today?

HOLLY: Of course we can! Right now?

MAKOTO: Not right now. I have to ask my grandma something.

HOLLY: Ok, that's fine. Just tell me when and where you want to see me.

MAKOTO: Alright. Bye.

HOLLY: Bye.

Holly said something else faint, but Makoto couldn't hear it well.

MAKOTO: What?

HOLLY: Nothing, bye!

The call ended. Makoto put his phone down and stared at the ceiling. Then, he got out of the bed, and saw Tsuga open the door, it was Officer Mike.

Tsuga and Mike talked for a while, while Makoto overheard the entire situation. After their conversation, Mike gave the old book that was found in the cemetery. Makoto couldnt see what it was though.

Suddenly, Tsuga's head started hurting. Makoto couldn't make out what was happening.

MIKE: Are you okay?

TSUGA: I'm fine. Thanks for checking on us.

Officer Mike left.

MAKOTO: Grandma...

TSUGA: Makoto, are you alright?

MAKOTO: Grandma, you never answered my question from last night, tell me about our family history. What is the Destiny of each Masami family member?

Tsuga was shocked. Then he walked over to a picture frame on a wall of their family from 15 years ago. There was Tsuga, Yoshi, Makoto, and 2 others.

TSUGA: This picture, is all I have left of All of us, together. There's me, your mother, your father, Yoshi, and you.

MAKOTO: Who are they?

TSUGA: It starts many centuries ago, but I don't know all of it. I only know of what happened when I was there.

Makoto was silent.

TSUGA: For generations and generations, it wasn't our family's time to shine yet. But now, things are different. It all started with your parents. Kishi and Okada Masami.
