Sundeen

Chapter 1 - Makoto Masami

This story takes place in a small village in the Midwestern Region in the United States. Sundeen Village. Sundeen Village is a sheltered town which isn't known well to the public for many security reasons. It's the beginning of the school year at Sundeen High and things are looking as normal as ever. Typically how most school stories start.

A high school boy, Japanese, black hair,
5'11" (180cm) is getting ready for school. His name is Makoto Masami, he lives with his grandma, Tsuga Masami. And this is the story of how he'll become the Hero of Sundeen Village.

MAKOTO: Grandma, I'm about to head to school now.

TSUGA: Wait! Don't leave without my kisses!

MAKOTO: Grandma!

Tsuga was running down the stairs, as Makoto was about to open the door. They hugged it out and Makoto left for school. Suddenly, he got a call from his phone. It was from his best friend, Joey. Makoto answered the phone.

JOEY: Wassup, Makoto. First day of school, where you at?

MAKOTO: I'm right outside my house, where are you?

JOEY: Oh, I'm at school already. Thought you'd be here by now. Cmon Makoto get it, together.

MAKOTO: It's literally 7:43 in the morning...

JOEY: I got up at 5 today!

MAKOTO: ... why?

JOEY: Because I wanted to. Wow, now realizing it, some kids had glow ups over the summer, there's Kennedy, Rosie, there's Emily, ew Emily. But you know what I mean.

Makoto chuckled.

MAKOTO: Alright, I'll see you there.

JOEY: See ya bro.

The call ended. Makoto connected his airpods to his phone and started listening to music. He was only right around the corner from school. It only took about 10 minutes to walk there. As Makoto was walking on the sidewalk alongside the high school, he smiled, staring at the school. He was in a moment. But that moment ended when he bumped into someone. That someone was a very special someone though. Holly Henderson, his crush.

HOLLY: Oh, hey Makoto.

MAKOTO: H- Hey Holly! You excited for school?

Makoto and Holly started walking again.

HOLLY: To be honest, not really. But this is a private school and the teachers here are talented at what they do. Private schools don't really have as much action as public schools do.

MAKOTO: Huh?

HOLLY: What about you? What do you think of school starting again?

MAKOTO: To be honest, this school year is going to be a movie.

HOLLY: !!, you think so?

MAKOTO: I just got a feeling.

Holly chuckled.

HOLLY: Ok, if you say so.

Holly winked at Makoto and walked on because they arrived to the school doors, where Joey was waiting for Makoto. Holly walked past Joey. Joey walked up to Makoto. They did their handshake, then Joey said in a soft voice.

JOEY: Aye I see you were talking with Holly right there.

MAKOTO: It's not even like that.

JOEY: Suuuure it isn't. I bet you two were holding hands on the way here.

Makoto's face grew red for a second.

MAKOTO: It's not even like that!

Makoto walked on ahead of Joey. Joey laughed.

JOEY: Haha! We'll see how this school year turns out.

MAKOTO: Trust me Joey, this year is gonna be a movie.
