-JENSEN'S POV-

"What's going on with you?" I asked in a low voice.

Scarlett turned her hazel eyes toward me, chewing on her lip nervously. Ever since she had returned from the mall a few days ago with Gen and Vicki, she had been acting strangely. Assuming she would say something to me eventually, I hadn't brought it up at first, but it had been four days and we were sitting on the plane to head back to Vancouver and she still hadn't said a word.

"What?" she asked, eyebrows furrowing in confusion.

"You've been acting weird ever since you went out with Gen and Vicki four days ago. What's going on?"

"I haven't... Has it really been four days?"

"Scar, what the hell?"

"I don't suppose I could convince you that it's nothing and you don't need to worry about it, could I?" she asked hopefully.

"What the hell happened at the mall, Scarlett?"

My girlfriend sighed, slumping down slightly in her seat.

"We ran into Danneel."

"What?!"

"She was there with Charles," Scarlett continued as if my outburst hadn't occurred. "She didn't say anything, but he had plenty to say to me."

"What did he say?"

"He mentioned that he was urging Danneel to file for full custody of JJ... and then made some cracks about how I'm a slut and you're a whore lover before telling me his offer still stood and to call him..."

I didn't hear anything after my daughter's name. If Danneel filed for full custody, then my life would be ruined. I couldn't imagine a life without my little Birdie. It was bad enough when Dani was keeping her from me when it was my turn with her, but to have that completely taken away by some judge... I'm not sure I could live with that.

"Jay? Jensen? Earth to Douchebag!"

I shook my head, looking down at the girl in the seat next to me. Scarlett's hazel eyes shone with worry as she stared back up at me.

"Hey, it'll be okay," she said softly. "We'll figure it out just like we've done with everything else."

She laced our fingers together, my larger hand fitting perfectly around hers like a glove. I gave her an appreciative smile, leaning down to plant a kiss on her forehead.

"I love you," I murmured against her skin.

"I love you, too," she responded.

***

We had just finished shooting the scene where Dean finally reunites with Sam and Faith and they escape from Lady Bevell with Mary's help. They were setting up to shoot the next scene in the Men of Letters bunker.

"Man, it feels good to shoot together again," Scarlett noted, plopping down in her chair next to me.

"Tell me about it," I smiled.

It really had been too long since she and I had been on set together. Yeah, we saw each other all the time in between stuff and at home, but we hadn't actually filmed together since the finale.

"Alright, places!"

We made our way to the map table with Jared and Sam, an empty chicken bucket on top of the table.

"It's mine," Scarlett whispered.

"What?"

"The pie Samantha's going to bring in... I made it."

"Oh, hell yes."

As soon as we were in position and the cameras were rolling, Thomas called action.

"Oh, that was fantastic. Thank you, Mom," I began.

Sam came in carrying the pie and chuckling. I perked up a bit more, Scarlett rolling her eyes beside me.

"All I did was point at some stuff on a take-out menu. I would've cooked but I, uh, don't."

"Well, now, wait. You're meat loaf was amazing," I protested.

"Came from Piggly Wiggly," Sam shook her head. "Sorry to burst your bubble."

Scarlett snorted at my hurt expression and I scowled at her. Jared hadn't stopped staring at Sam like he couldn't believe she was real.

"But do you still like pie?" Sam continued.

"I mean..." I chuckled.

"Is the sky blue?" Scarlett muttered as I pulled the pie toward me.

As I cut myself a slice, Sam turned to address Jared.

"Sam, you keep looking at me like I'm going to explode."

"I'm sorry," Jared glanced away sheepishly.

I placed the piece of Scarlett's pie on a plate and dug in happily.

"Oh," I moaned.

"It's just pie," Scarlett mumbled.

"No such thing," I shot back around a mouthful of the dessert.

"But what do we think?" Sam continued. "Are we buying that Brit's 'let's be friends' routine?"

"No," Jared shook his head. "No way."

"No. Mm," I agreed, continuing to shovel pie in my mouth.

"Could you eat that any faster?" Scarlett scoffed.

"No. No I cannot," I said as I finished the slice and dished out another.

Sam smiled and Jared made a 'what can you say' gesture with his hand as Scarlett rolled her eyes.

"Well, we should call the internet and find out as much as we can about these people... Did I say that right?"

"So close," I informed Sam.

"Yeah, it was so close," Jared nodded.

"You want any?" I inquired, looking to Jared.

"No. Uh, not now," he replied.

I looked to Scarlett who just shook her head. Shrugging, I got myself a third slice and continued to eat.

"Cut!" Thomas yelled.

I continued eating and Scarlett shook her head at me.

"Seriously, it's just pie."

"But it's your pie," I pointed out.

"Wait, you made this?" Sam asked Scarlett.

"Yeah, I like to bake in my free time. Apple pie happens to be a specialty of mine."

"It's amazing" I informed Sam.

"Yeah it is," Jared agreed, getting his own slice.

"It's okay," Scarlett mumbled, blushing.

"I believe Tom has described it as 'heaven on earth' and I'm inclined to agree with him," I said as I got a fourth slice.

"Dude, you've nearly had half the pie by yourself," Jared whined.

"Not my fault you're slow."

"I'd get some now if you want to try it before these two finish it off," Scarlett addressed Sam.

Chuckling, Sam got a piece and took an experimental first bite.

"Oh, wow," she gushed.

"Told you," I smirked.

"Yeah, yeah, I make good pie. I'm going to be in the meal tent if anybody needs me," Scarlett said, standing and walking off.
