"Out of all of us that could have happened to," she shook her head. "Why did you have to be the first one that they met?"

"Maybe because I was the first one here?" he gave her a side glance. He was too focused on what he was drawing at the moment. This forest was huge, but he had gotten a good portion of this territory done. Another week and he should have the whole area mapped out.

Then maybe, just maybe, he would finally be able to find the one thing that they had all been searching for.

"You're going to hang that over my head for the rest of eternity, aren't you?" Glinda rolled her eyes.

"Do you know how many times I tried to call you?" he asked.

"We were both out of range!" Glinda argued. "What on earth do you think we're supposed to do when we can't even hear the phone from where we are?!"

"That's when that handy little device that I got you both years ago comes in handy," he frowned. "The fact that both of you still can't handle technology is going to be your downfalls."

"You know, for as old as you are," Glinda put her hands on her hips. "I would have thought that you could have just told us telepathically or something. It would have made things ten times easier."

"You really think I can do that from across the world?" he looked up from his tablet to stare at her in disbelief. "You are a madwoman."

"I'll take that as a compliment," Glinda laughed. "It was only a few days that you weren't able to get ahold of us, Snake. And we both rushed here the second that we could."

"You wanted to know why they found me first," Snake shrugged. He liked messing with his friends. It helped time pass by. Of course, there was only so much time he had with them. Since they were both humans, they still required sleep. Snake made extra ground with his supernatural insomnia.

"Don't you usually brag about being able to stay below the radar?"

"Let's just say they're a pretty strong pack," Snake smiled. "They came from Clifford, after all."

"I remember him," she put her hand to her chin. "He was always so serious all the time. The man never smiled unless he was around his mother or his mate."

"It seems like all those warriors that Osiris put together created some strong packs," Snake said. There were so many werewolves that traveled from all over the world to this forest back then. But there were three warriors that were the strongest, next to Osiris.

Alone they are weak, but together they thrive.

"I still miss him," Glinda sighed.

"Me too," he told her, looking up at the cloudy sky. "He was the one who taught me just how great human food tasted."

The old hag of a woman laughed as he said that. He was sure that she was only having good memories of that.

"If it weren't for that spell, I would have never been able to see you eat so much food and then rush to the restroom."

"I had no idea just how much coffee went through your digestive system."

"I wish he was there to see that!"

"I'll make sure to tell him all about it, one day," he kept looking at the clouds. They were dark, but not enough for snow. There was going to be rain for sure, but that's how winter always was here. Even all the way when he first came to this forest.

There were so many memories that loved to come flooding back from those times. Being a vampire allowed him to have so many memories, but the worst was always when the ones he had made so many with passed away. He could barely deal with the first death that happened in his life.
