It had all been going according to plan. He so easily got reacquainted with these tunnels in a matter of hours. It was simple to figure out how to close off their traveling paths. He knew all the different routes that they could take. It wouldn't be difficult to block off the two pathways that the hunters were using.

It wasn't a bad idea that these wolves had. He was happy in letting them take the lead. He would still be there, helping to make sure that they would win this battle, but he wasn't going to be the one leading them. He had retired from his leadership role a thousand years ago, and didn't plan on going back any time soon.

Eric wasn't doing a bad job leading that group of warriors. They all trusted him with their lives, following him into battle. They had even evacuated the civilians of the pack to another city in order to keep them away from all the fighting. It made it easier to fight without worrying about having to protect.

He would have to trust the others to protect Sage and Charlie, though. Those two were going to be these hunter's main targets. They had killed a good chunk of them throughout the time they had been in the forest, but Gideon had gathered quite a lot of his followers to adventure with him on this idiotic journey. They all were pretty good at sneaking around, though. He would give them that.

As much as he wanted to make sure that nothing wrong happened where Charlie and Sage were, there was one important thing that he still had to take care of.

He sent Glinda and Dakota to the edge of the forest. There were too many hunters there for the warriors that had been sent. They were going to need back up, no matter how skilled they were. While they helped them, though, Snake searched high and low for the one person that had started this all.

"Looking for me?" he turned to see the man that he had been looking for, as if on queue. That gruesome smile never failed to annoy him. If that didn't make matters worse, he couldn't pull out his gun because the man had his bow pointed at him.

"Gideon Flint," he said. "I would have thought that you would be a bit closer. This is pretty far from where those souls you want so bad are."

"I'm fascinated that you would say that, Snake," he said. "With all that research that I've heard of you doing, I would have thought you knew me by now."

"If you mean that you're a liar that somehow started a cult following in the hunting community," he said. "Then yes, I do know you."

The man laughed, his whole stance oozing confidence with every second that passed.

"I don't need to do the dirty work when I have others to do that for me. I'm sure you can relate, though. That's how leaders are, after all."

"Do I really have to go on a debate with you about leadership?" Snake sighed. It always had to be the most dramatic and over the top things with these people. They wanted to seem so high and mighty by speaking so confidently. It really just gave them the disadvantage. They ruined their whole act of surprise the more they yapped their mouth.

"No," he smiled at him again. "You see, as much as my followers are going to get the two souls that I originally wanted, I'm going to be getting the most important one of them all."

"Maybe if you actually stopped talking," he pulled out his gun. As soon as he did, the hunter shot an arrow at him. One dodge later and he shot his gun towards him. It was easy to see that the hunter had a back up plan. There were more of his group with him hiding in the trees. They all shot at him while he tried to get the hunter.

Of course, he had been able to figure out that he had more hunters surrounding him while he was busy talking. He sent a message out to Dakota who was the closest to his location. The man was the best at killing these hunters off. They'd never expect when his golden arrows flew at them. He had grabbed his old weapon from the room that they had all been in when they first entered the tunnels.
