The whole day was full of people coming in and out of his room. As much as he was worried about this strange phenomenon that he was now apart of, it felt so good to have so many people around him again. It didn't take long for him to feel safe here, not with Reggie there, at least. He never left his side the whole time, introducing him to everyone who came.
The first people were his cousins. They were apparently the leaders of all these people. It was still weird to think that they were all werewolves. Sage couldn't really get over that fact. His grandmother would be having a heart attack right now if she knew that there were werewolves this close.
"So, you're the only one that's human?" Sage asked the green-eyed man. He was the only one that he had met with eyes that were such bright green. Sage liked him. He was a really happy person, who made him feel calm.
"Yup," the man nodded. "It's nice to meet you, Sage. I'm Charlie."
"If you're Charlie," he pointed to the red head that was holding him. "Then you must be Max."
"How do you know my name?" the red head looked at him in shock. He looked a lot like Reggie, minus the bright hair. He had the same build and the same eyes. But he seemed a bit more calmer than Reggie.
"Reggie told me all about you guys," Sage elbowed his friend. "It also doesn't help that whenever I called him, he was in one of you guys' offices filing paperwork after making sure you got a lunch break."
"So, that's who you were always talking to in my office," Charlie looked at Reggie. "I was wondering who was making you smile so much."
"I-uh," Reggie stuttered. It was probably the first time he heard him talk like that. Sage couldn't help but laugh at his friend's discomfort.
"Wait," Sage distracted the two of them from interrogating Reggie more. "Does this mean I get to meet the adorable baby you guys adopted?"
"Sasha?" Charlie smiled and shook his head. "If I had known that you wanted to, I wouldn't have let her grandparents watch her for the day."
"We'll have to do that another time," Max said. "It seems like you know more about us than we really know about you, though. Mind if we have a chat about that?"
"That depends," he crossed his arms. As much as he was getting more comfortable with all of these people, his guard was still up about them all.
"On what?" Max asked. His voice was calm, like a parent. He must have handled a lot of kids who had bad pasts or something, because his whole vibe was calm and patient.
Sage liked it. It was different from what he normally had. It was different from all the people who he called family. They were always there for him, and he knew they would be there at the drop of a dime if he needed anything, but none of them acted like this man. He just seemed like a dad. And Sage never really had that. His dad had passed away before he was even born.
"Me getting my necklace back or not," Sage said. He was still waiting on them to bring him the urn of his grandma's. He hoped it was still intact. He didn't know what he was going to do if it broke and her ashes were scattered from one of those arrows.
"Ah," Max started patting down his pockets. "I almost forgot about that." He finally fished the necklace out and handed it to him. "Sorry for taking it."
Sage put the necklace to his chest. It was more broken than before, but the jewels were still in it. He really hoped that he could get it fixed someday. It was the one thing that made him feel like his grandma was still there with him, trying to keep him safe like when he was little.
He felt so little then. He was only eighteen and now he had no one. He barely knew how to take care of himself. And now the only place that he thought was the safest of them all was destroyed by arrows and an enemy that he didn't know a thing about.

Romance"So," he said. "Let me get this straight: You're a werewolf?" "Yes." "Who lives with a group of other werewolves?" "Yes." "And you all have normal everyday lives that you go and do along with running around as wolves?" "I mean," Reggie put his hand...
