If he ever wrote down a list of things he regretted, this would be at the very top of that list.
They had brought him food, just like Charlie had said. He could barely eat any of it, though. He was starving, but his stomach refused to accept any food after throwing up the remnants of his breakfast that morning. He wasn't really one to throw up all the time. He'd like to say that his stomach was strong when it came to getting sick, but there was only so much emotions that he could bare in one day.
He hadn't been held my someone in such a motherly way before, though. The only other person who had ever done something like that was his grandmother. But he had never gotten as upset when she was around as he did then. He could trust her with anything. And she was always there to defend him when things like this happened.
Now he just had to defend himself.
He guessed that was just a part of being an adult. Sometimes there wasn't anyone to help you. Sometimes, you had to do things yourself. He just wished that he didn't get thrusted into this harsh reality as soon as he did.
This house and the people in it were strange. They made him feel safe and unwelcomed at the same time. He wanted to stay here because of all of the friends he's made and the fact that he was safer here than in those woods. He just hated that he had someone who disliked him just because he was human.
That sentence would have made no sense to him a few weeks ago. It seemed like time was flying, and moving at a snail's pace at the same time.
There were so many questions that he had. Namely for Snake. He wished he could have just gone with him. At least he was someone familiar.
Even if he was a vampire.
Well, he had never hurt him. If anything, he had always protected him when he needed it. He was the one that got him into that school, after all. Him and his grandma said that it was to keep him safe from bullying. The school was extremely strict when it came to that.
But, if he was a vampire, then how did he get Sage into a school that was full of werewolves?
This was all giving him a headache.
No, not a headache. A full body ache. He was laying on his back with his head off the pillow just staring at the dark ceiling just to try and get his neck to stop trying to decapitate him. His muscles were so tense, and it seemed like there was nothing he could do other than try to sleep it off.
If he could sleep. His wondering mind was why he was still staring at that blank ceiling above him. He fell asleep a little when Charlie had come in to comfort him, but that didn't last long. That was mainly because he had exhausted himself out from crying. He hated that he cried in front of him, but it was hard to hide emotions from someone who actually cared and was loving.
He wished he had a dad like him. Unfortunately, his passed away before he was even born. He never even got to meet him. But his grandma always said that both of his parents were loving people. He always dreamed of what it would have been like if they both were still alive to this day.
The room lit up with a blue glow as his phone started vibrating. He wanted to ignore it, but knew that he couldn't.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Squirt," Snake's voice came over the phone. "I told you I'd call you."
"You owe me answers," Sage went straight to the point. It was strange to think of him as a deadly vampire when he still talked to him like the uncle he knew and loved.
"That's why I said I'd call," he told him. "Ask away."
"Why haven't you been calling me?" It seemed silly for a first question in a situation like this, but he was really worried about all of them. He had tried to call them every day. "Do you know how scared I was that you guys were going to get hurt?"
