He had a headache again, and his throat was sore and dry. He was desperate for water, even though his eyes still refused to open. His body ached, especially a certain part of it, and he wasn't entirely sure if he was up for trying to walk at the moment. He needed to shower and probably change the bed sheets, because they didn't feel clean at all. He felt like he had just gone to a house party and gotten trashed and now he was dealing with the after effects.
Was it still worth it?
Absolutely.
Would he do it again?
In a heartbeat.
He let those arms move him as they both shifted in the bed. He wasn't in any position to move himself even if he wanted to. Instead, he enjoyed the warmth of the body that he was laying against, praying that those arms never left him.
He wasn't getting his prayers answered.
"No," he muttered, moving his own arms around his neck.
Reggie just laughed a little and pulled him up to him. He wasn't opening his eyes yet, but he didn't have to. There was only one person who could make him feel this good when he had all of these issues.
"Come on, Honey," that voice filled the air, swirling around him with warmth and happiness. "Don't you want to get something to eat?"
"Not if it means you have to leave," he tightened his hold on him. There was only one reason why Reggie got up in the morning, and that was when he needed to do something. When he had the days off, he would laze around in bed all day until they were too hungry.
He wasn't going to leave him alone, was he? After last night, he better not. The more he remembered from it, the harder he fell for the man. He belonged in those arms, and he was going to fight tooth and nail to keep him there.
"It's just a meeting, Sage," Reggie kissed his cheek. "It'll take an hour and that's it."
Sage groaned. If it was a dumb meeting then he would have to go.
"This isn't fair," he whined as the man quickly scattered kisses all over his neck. He could already feel his body waking up. It was easy to do with this man around. "You aren't supposed to just run out on me."
"I promise, it won't be that long," he gently pulled away from him. "I'll get breakfast sent here for you while I'm gone. Then it'll just be you and me the rest of the day."
He still wanted to cling onto him as tightly as possible. He was still riding off from the passion of the night before. Reggie held him like he belonged in his arms forever. It felt so natural for them, even though it was his first time.
But he wasn't going to win this fight. He could feel just how much the man wanted to stay. But there was no convincing him. It wasn't like the last time he played hooky where he just fell into him and caved. Reggie gently pulled away and started to get off the bed.
"I'll be back, Honey," he kissed his head. "I promise."
Sage just grunted a reply, keeping his eyes shut. The blanket was still wrapped around him, but the bed felt so much colder now. There was no way he was going to be able to fall asleep without him now. But he grumpily stayed in bed as he heard the shower turn on and then eventually the door shut as he left.
He didn't know what he had gotten himself into. What started out as a crush had turned into a full-blown romance in a matter of a month or two. It was strange, but he couldn't help but enjoy it. He never thought he was the type of person to fly into a relationship and make it as permanent as possible. But it just happened so easily with Reggie. It was too easy to say yes to him.
