The entire pack had been brought back to life. It was as if nothing had happened at all. Children ran down the halls, giggling, while parents and other adults talked excitedly to each other. All it took was them hearing about Charlie eating again and they knew that he was going to be okay. He had been wide awake that morning, talking to everyone who wanted to come in. From what he heard, his kids had been glued onto the bed with him, along with Max.

Dr. Button told them all that he was finally on his steps to recovery, especially now that he was eating. Nick and the other chefs were sending smaller meals his way throughout the morning for him to munch on. It seemed like they had finally gotten their Luna back, which is what everyone was praying about for almost a week straight.

He'd have to thank Jane one of these days for coming up with the idea to go and visit him that night. Most people thought it was a miracle. That it had happened because of some happiness that Sage and all of them shared. Truth be told, he wasn't outing that idea. That pie could have gotten his appetite back.

But he also knew what else was happening behind the scenes.

"Glad to know you were successful," he mind linked with his friend. He had gone silent while on his personal mission.

"Is he really okay?"

"He's finally recovering now," he informed him. "And he's been eating food as if he's trying to make up for the days that he couldn't."

"That's great!" he said. He could feel him running closer to him. "I was so worried, Reggie. None of us were sure if it was going to work or not."

"We all were, Eric," he comforted. He had taken the time that he was leading to finish all the paperwork that had piled up that week. Right after Eric left, he started organizing the patrols again. They were at a disarray without someone to lead them, and the council had been pulling them in a bunch of different directions. He might not be in charge of this pack for much longer, but he was going to make sure that it was the best it could be while he was.

He put guards by the entrance to the tunnel closest to their house. Then, after an hour of Eric being gone, he had a few of them go in there to find more exits. The day had been full of planting more guards around the tunnels on the outside. He warned their neighbor packs of the danger that lurked, along with just how deadly their weapons could be. They raised their guard after hearing what was going on in their part of the forest. Alpha Leonard, of the Harvest Moon Pack, was absolutely devastated to hear of what happened to Charlie. They had known him when he was just a boy, and still kept in contact with him. The Luna of the Blood Moon Pack, Katy, was worried too when he told her the news. She wanted to go and visit, but it was too dangerous for that. The last thing that Reggie wanted to do was risk the life of another Luna.

He was glad that Sage was okay with him not going to bed that night. He wanted to try and help some of the ones who weren't able to sleep. Reggie didn't know what he had planned, but he wasn't going to stop him on that idea. As much as he wanted to make sure that Sage got his sleep, he was the temporary Luna of the pack now. And it was his job to keep everyone calm.

Reggie smiled and shook his head. Sage didn't even have to be told what he had to do as Luna. He just did it. Sure, he didn't know the paperwork side, but the most important job a Luna has is to be there for the pack. To listen to them and understand them. And Sage seemed like he was already doing a great job of that.

Jane was too, actually. They were all working together to help each other out. When things get serious, you have to come together to get through it. That's what he loved the most about this pack. They always knew when to come together.
