let's just get out of here
run awayto somewhere where grapevines are always blooming
and i won't have to look at memories
all day, look at the sofa where we used sit and talk
your straw hair
brushing against my stony neckor the thousands of pictures of bikinis
and watermelons
and peanut butter milkshakesor the dent in the wall where i got
angry,
threw a chair.
the reason that you left haunting my
elephant ears, too big to care:
"i can't do this anymore. i'm sorry.
it just terrifies me when you
get this way. you are too
possessive, too controlling. i'm
sorry"if you were so sorry
why did you leave?
i would've changed for you.look, i don't know your name
or your favorite color
or your shoe size (hers was an 8.5, just right)but i'm lonely,
and you're lonely,
and god, my heart hurts so bad i swear
it will explode,
so let's get out of here.your hair is almost straw, and my clay neck is this close to forming
stone...............................
