My heart fluttered for the rest of that night. I didn't dare ask anything more on the subject in fear of pushing him away. I'm going to let this take the path it chooses. I mean, what if he's just fucking with me? It wouldn't be the first time a guy has led me on.

"Lexi! The girls and I are going to the park. Want to come?" Sam asked, digging around for her keys. I swear she looses them more than a dryer eats socks.

"Sure. Let me go change first." I said.

I pulled on a decent looking outfit. I wasn't trying to impress anyone in particular. The only person I'm worrying about looking good for is Jay, and he's at work.

Everyone was piled in the car like a bunch of clowns. Ren sat on Logan's lap, Sam sat in Vic's lap, Adia was in the driver's seat, and I'd assume the passenger side was reserved for me. Bags were in between the four in the back. I guess we're having a picnic or something.

"How is it back there?" I asked. It was too funny.

"I kind of like it." Sam said. Vic bust into laughter.

"I'm being crushed!" Logan said in mock pain. Ren slapped his shoulder, causing laughter to bounce around the car.

Small chatter filled my ears. I didn't really talk to anyone. I was more focused on what he said yesterday. Wow, he really leaves me hanging quite a bit. The suspension is a killer.

"We're here!" Adia called. We all climbed out and grabbed our things.

We each had a job to do. Sam and Vic set out the blankets while Adia started the grill. Ren and Logan were getting plates and the drinks ready. Meanwhile, I just hung over the edge of the bridge throwing rocks in the water.

Each rock would cause a ripple effect. It reminds me of a life. If you throw something in the way, it causes an effect. Good or bad. It reminds me of Jay and I. He's caused a tsunami in my life and I don't know if I can handle the damage when he leaves.

"Hey there." A familiar voice called.

"You have the worst timing of any human I know." I said with a chuckle.

"I'm Jay, what do you expect?"

"I though you were at work." I said, brushing off anything I had been contemplating earlier.

"Was. I got off early." He said, propping himself up next to me.

"Oh." Was all I said. He started picking at the paint flaking off the wood railing.

The smallest things about him shone through like a flood light. I'm not sure why. I find the smallest things he does adorable. For example, he has a nervous habit of biting his lip. There's certain words he can't stand. There are a few lyrics in a song he'll sing louder than the rest. Every little thing about him, even down to his flaws, make him who he is. And I can't help but find myself falling for him harder and harder every day.

"Lex?" He snapped me out of my little trance.

"You okay?" He asked.

I tore my eyes away from the murky water and look at him. He was giving me a worried look. I just smiled and gave a small nod.

"I think it's time to eat." He said, looking over my shoulder.

I followed him to the table where everyone was already sitting down. They brought blankets, I thought we were eating on the ground. Oh well. You don't see me complaining.

Small talk occured here and there. Nothing major came up.

"Alex, we're all heading to the movies. Do you want to go, or?" Sam asked, and directed her eyes towards Jay.

"I'm probably gonna hang with him." I said.

He was clearing the table off by himself. A glob of ketchup slid off a plate and onto his hand. He cursed and searched for a napkin. I couldn't help but laugh. He's so awkward yet I find it adorable.

"You got it bad girl." Sam said with a smirk before following after Vic towards the car.

The sad part about that statement is that I agree.

----

"Oh come on. You have to have at least one." He said with a laugh.

This was an incredibly awkward topic.

"I have none." I said honestly.

He scoffed in disbelief. "That's a lie. Everyone has a kink."

"This just became extremely weird, let's talk about something else." I said.

"Okay, well I've been meaning to bring this up for a while." He started.

We walked the dark streets aimlessly. He was kicking a rock down the sidewalk. He's had the same rock for a block or two.

"Well it's now or never." I said.

"You remember how I said I liked you?" He asked, shoving his hands in his pockets.

"Yeah."

"Well I do. A lot. And let me know if this is too soon, but I'd like for you to be my girlfriend." He said sincerely.

I stopped in my tracks. He paused and turned to face me. His dark hair partially covered his eyes, giving him a mysterious vibe.

"I'm sorry, I knew it was too soon." He said quickly.

A smirk tugged at my lips. He's such an idiot, I swear.

I stepped forward and pulled him to me by his hoodie strings. His hands found my hips naturally. I smiled, before pressing my lips to his. Just like the first kiss we shared, fireworks exploded.

His smooth lips fit perfectly with mine. Some part of me believes that he was made for me. How could two people just find each other the way we did?

"Of course I will." I said once we had separated.

"Let's go watch Netflix and cuddle." He said, grabbing my hand.

Maybe things will work out for once in forever.
