"I think I love you." I told her, honestly.
I've been terrified to say anything. I didn't want to tell her and scare her off. There's not many people I've been scared to push away, but she's one of them. I don't know what I'd do without her.
"I-I think I love you too." She stuttered.
Everything about her is adorable. Logan says I have it bad. I didn't believe him till I noticed for myself.
The wheel made its full round and came to a grinding halt at the bottom.
I noticed her looking, so I looked back, out of pure curiosity. A blush tinted her cheeks as she looked away. It was the cutest thing I've seen in my entire life. I couldn't ever imagine why anyone would want to hurt her.
"I'm gonna win you a teddy bear." I said.
She looked at me in amusement. "What?"
"I'm gonna win you a teddy bear. Like one of them cheesy dates." I repeated.
Determined, I looked around for one of those booths with the giant bears. There was one with a giant turtle sitting on the top shelf. Perfect.
Six dollars later and much embarrassment, I finally had the plush animal. Alex was seven shades of red. Triumphantly, I handed it over.
"I love it." She said smiling.
"It's cute. Like you." I replied.
If possible, her smile stretched even wider. My hands found her waist as they always do. She stood up on her toes and placed a small, quick kiss on my lips. That's something I'd never get used to.
"Ready to go home?" I asked. She nodded in response.
----
"Lex, your phone." I said, breaking the kiss and pushing her backwards gently.
She groaned in frustration. "Can't it wait?"
"Apparently not, since it's rung about a thousand times."
She huffed and walked in the kitchen to answer it. Someone needed her really bad. What's this twinge in my stomach? I don't like it. Jealousy? No.
"Sam!" I heard her squeal.
Her and that girl make one hell of a team. The group is practically inseparable. Sometimes I wish I had friends like that. Some that'd drive me to a different country to see a friend I didn't know squat about. I'm surprised they actually kept their promise.
"Jay?"
"Yes?"
"Remember how Sam sent Vic the link to our YouTube page?" She looked as if she was on the verge of exploding.
"Yeah." I said, standing up. I think I know where this is going.
"Well we got signed." She said, bouncing around.
"Babe, that's awesome!" I pulled her into a tight embrace. I know how long she's been waiting for this.
According to the girls, this would define their future. They work so hard, yet keep their grades impossibly high. Devotion is what I'd call that.
----
The girls sat around a table with some fancy looking dude. He had a suit on, but underneath his sleeves I could see the faint lines of tattoos.
"So, if you'd like, we can go ahead and record your first album." He said, passing around some papers.
I know they've written enough to create a full album. I've heard nearly every one of them.
"We'd love to!" Alex said brightly.
"Great! We can meet up next week. Further details will be e-mailed to you." He said with a kind smile.
They all said their goodbyes, and came back to the room Pierce The Veil and I were in.
The same dude signed them too. Apparently he's big on small bands. Vic said he knows what it's like to be in a garage band, that's why he signs people like them. To give them a chance not many others would. I respect that.
Alex walked in and let out a squeal, jumping in my arms. She does that a lot.
"You guys could go on tour with us!" Jaime suggested.
"Dude, yes!" Adia said happily.
It warms my heart to see them filled with such joy. This had been their dream since ninth grade. God knows it must feel damn good.
